Got 2 questions, here.
1." some pictures of me doing this myself." Which one are you???
2." is it normal for not a whole bag to go in my stove, have about a 1/4 left in a 40 pound bag". I'm not familiar with this stove, but if a 40# bag won't fit in the hopper, have you checked to make sure all packing materials have been removed????????? Maybe that's all it holds, but if the book sez it's got a 60# hopper, and you can only get 30# in, maybe ya got something else in there already.

Look's very nice. Bet you feel good it's all set and burning. You will get used to it and Soon you will be burning 24/7 along with the rest of us pellet nuts.

You will love the warmth and the little work it requires to maintain is going to give you something to do on those winter days.

Beautiful looking setup!

I noticed you have a clean-out door in the fireplace. I ran my electric thru the clean-out door into the cellar to a electric box. That way, the electric cord doesn't show(like you have in the picture). Nice looking setup you have there..

Looks great. It's hard to get 40lbs in an insert reguardless of what the stove spec says. Can get close to a full bag with my York but that means compressing and really packing them in. We pack em in when we know we are going to be out of the house for a while so we don't run out.
Inserts are a bit more work than the free standing stoves so don't think there is something wrong if you have to empty the ash pans and clean it alot more than what you read about on these forums. I vacuum mine every 2 to three days and empty the main ash pan 3 times a day.

Fish On, don't know if I mentioned it before, but this goes for all the new installs....get a good surge protector on that stove. Minimum of 750 joules protection, and hopefully it also protects all three legs (G-N-H).

Very nice job, Fish! Very professional. Enjoy the heat and the view.

Looks fantastic, really nice job. I had the same question regarding the hopper size when I first got my Castine insert. I was running mine dry in cold weather after a long day at work. Each time you fill it reach into the left side of your hopper and pack the pellets back by stirring them around with your hand. You will get at least 40lbs in per fill and increase your burn times dramatically. Can't answer the t-stat question, mine is hardwired. Great job on the install!

I had the same problem, like groundhog and you. You have to kind of push the pellets back to fill the hopper, but dont push down- packing them in, as this can cause a jam, happened once when I packed them in. But it cleared itself. Your set up looks great

but didn't include the pics?
