My stove is ready to light. Good kindling, seasoned hardwood, pages from an old NY Times...

And it's been sitting for over a week. We had temps in the 20's a week ago, but now nights in the 40's. The Sunroom does a good job heating the house now, and the stove just sits... ready.

I have lots of wood laid in and I'm ready. Bring on the colder weather!

Do you even have winter down there? We have had close to below zero already!!! frozen pumpkins up here !!! So saver that sun room as long as you can.....

Got some snow falling here, I'm burning 24/7 now as the sun is not out. Really makes a difference when the sun shies to heat the house...........

Yes, we do get winter here. I have seen a couple weeks that it never got above +5F and remember one winter when we had a foot of snow every Wednesday for 6 weeks. Nothing much was moving, as it was hard to clear the mountain roads.

We have an El Nino going on. That means more moisture this winter and if we get Canadian cold fronts... oh boy! I love it.

Then again, I did work in Antarctica for 12 years. I like cold, but I also like the 4 seasons we get here.

I don't know if anybody is like me, but every year I look foreward to the cooler weather so I can fire up the stove. But....by about April I'm ready for a break.
