this sat. pickup only BT has these on sale:

* Spruce Pointe Super Premium Softwood: $255
* Hamer Hot Ones Ultra Premium: $285
* Rocky Mountain Super Premium Softwood: $275
* Lake Region Super Premium Softwood: $240

Hemi,

Thanks for the scoop! I would try the Lake Region's before buying any large amounts. There has been some chatter about excessive ash. Heat was OK though.

I will vouch for the other 3. All good brands.

hemi, did you get a bag of the spruce points, how good they are? looks like the price is good but shipping might be a killer to our area.....

i also wonder about the Lake Region Pellets, seem to be softwood and the reading on their website "sounds" good

Another member had poor results with Lakes Region. I think they are getting the "first year mill" kinks out.

do a search, there are a few threads

Im gonna watch the weather and see how it goes.....dont wanna haul in the rain, but we can always do it the next sat.

And you two say I have issue's with pellets! Looks like I rubbed off on ya, hehe.  Save some for me OK?

I also see BT has added a few other brands since I have been there last. I was hoping they were going to start caring Okies, But not yet.

I email and chat with Debi every now and then. Sometimes she is there on Saturdays. She has been giving me a heads up on the little sales they have. But she forgot me this time. I did warn her about 2 pellet nuts and to have security handy!

You guys still going Saturday??

I might meet you there, I think I will grab a few brands to test later this fall. Lake Region is one brand I want to see the ash content of. Supposed to be high.

the weather looks good now for saturday........gotta check with geek, im an early riser so i would want to be there first thing

not sure i can be there early, my 2 small kids have soccer game at 9am.

since i have 3 tons of pellets i think i need half a ton to balance and get enough for the season, i'm thinking if i can haul 25 bags in my sienna van and make a single trip.....

lastly, would you guys recommend the softwood spruce points for sure? if the sale is only saturday we don't have time to buy just a bag or two to try and then go back and get what we need at the "sale" price.

..

ok, let me check.

Same boat for me as geek. I got to work in the am for a few hours. I will take a rain check for now. I might stop there right after work. Not sure on what time.

geek, I promise you will like them. That new quad will smile at you when your filling its hopper. Heck it even might start to purr! Trust me on this one. There a really good pellet.

thanks jay...

I see you have done alot of research on this. Do you know the best place to get pellets in Conn.

Made my first purchase from them this year, 3 tons of NEWP. Very good experience so they will be the first place I check next season.

Thanks for this info. I live the next town over, Burlington. I'm gonna go grab a ton of the Spruce Points tomorrow. I have two tons of Pres to Logs already, and i'm not entirely happy with them. I get good heat but the pellet lengths seem to vary greatly. Lots of shorts and lots of real longs.

see you tomorrow craig :)
