Did any CT pellet burners get to take advantage of the November Sale at BT Enterprises? I noticed on Saturday that the website was offering Okies at $255.00/Ton. The site said that manufacturers had lowered prices and they were being passed on to consumers for the entire month. Many pellets were available at good prices for CT. I planned on going tomorrow but the home page has changed. Another pellet ripoff?

I think it was for Saturday only. Hang tight they will have more sales. As long as the masses don't rush them.

They have been doing one every other Saturday.

The home page said "for the month of November".

they must have a problem with their website because yesterday it showed the sale and I went there and they said it was for the month of Nov. or while supplies last but they were pretty well stocked. And yes they did have some great prices.

They must have heard your complaints, The sale is back on the site! And you were right month of Nov.

Maybe they were just updating the site?

warmwife&happykids; ...I just checked BT Pellets website and the sale was there. Were you on the homepage or pricelist page? Have you trie the Okies yet? If so do you like them.

jtakeman did you notice there trucks turn green when you scroll over them? Pretty cool !! It says something about go green with BT

BT is a reputable company. Im guessing they see themselves sitting on an oversupply situation. Lets face it, most folks are stocked up by now....if they havent sold it by now, theyve got to find a way to sell it somehow.

I have bought from them before and they were very good. I would say they are reputable - delivered on the day they said they would. They do not take orders for pellets they don't have. Good deal there - I'll make some more space in the garage.

Hats off to BT Enterprises! I was able to purchase a ton of pellets at the sale price this morning. Boy, do they have a LOT of pellets! Makes for some interesting shopping.

Okanagan cheaper than NEWP and other brands????

hmmmm.....

which brand did you get, after you burn a bag let us know how you like it.

..

Picked up some Okanagan. Burning my way through two tons Lignetics, haven't touched the two tons of Barefoot yet. Interested to see what the Okie's can do!

can you burn a bag of the Okanagan and provide feedback please.

Okies for $255, wow. To bad I'm all full for the season. Best previous price per ton was like $290.00 or so. Like geek said, I hope they sell by the bag!

I wonder how many CT pellet burners are here in the forum?

i ordered from them and also went down there to pick them up with a buddy this year . after what i went through last year i rented a truck with a lift . we split the cost . the people were great the place had many tons of many different kinds of pellets. i picked up 3 tons newp and 1 ton bayou . i will buy my pellets from them every year they are around

Geek,
Like most, I eagerly await the results of jtakemans "Independent Study of Readily Available Pellets in Connecticut". I am particularly interested in Brand X. It is unlikely that I could provide a more unbiased opinion than Jay. His results are provided for all in a format that is easily understood. Why mess with perfection?

Awe shucks! :red:

Thank you for the kind words. Much appreciated! :)

I am slightly biased to the softwood pellets (not any brand in particular). That is Why I added brandY. It all comes down to a reasonably price pellet that has high heat and low ash. Doesn't matter if its a hardwood, softwood or a blend.

But I am far from perfect. This is really a group effort. I started this for fun and many members have made suggestions and I just tried to implement them into this. Hope you are having fun too?

If you want to try this sometime? I will help as best as I can. Even if its just a few brands. It is still results we can compare.

Take care

Just got back from BT and joined the OKANAGAN Club. I bought one ton to add to the other 3 tons of assorted pellets i previously bought 2 tons of Rockies, and 1 leftover of Green Team.

Will see how they burn once it cools off again.

I called BT Monday, cleaned out 1/2 the garage today, and expect 3 tons of Okan*** delivered tomorrow am. I have never used them before, just going by what I read here. I felt like an idiot ordering them because I did't know how to say the name. The lady at BT said she had to call the Co to get the correct pronunciation - maybe just to make me feel better. If they burn well I'll get the name right next year.

BT is like the WalMart store for Pellets...They offer so many brands at a reasonable price...

Let me see if I can help.

I used to call the O kan a gan's Like O malley. Irish it is not.

Check link for more info on the area they are named for.

I have used BT for 5 years, and they do have the best selection hands down, very good prices, and great customer service to boot. Just wish they were a few miles closer to me. :)

BT scheduled delivery between 7 and 9 am - they came at 8am. I was happy to see that they brought 2 - 65 bag pallets and 1 - 20 bag pallet. Since I really only had room for two pallets in the garage I asked my wife to have them leave #3 outside and I was going to hand stack it - 20 bags isn't bad. I'll burn 'em if it ever gets cold around here.
