manufacturer told me that i cant over fire my stove... hmmmm

I asked what the ideal operating temps for the enviro venice 1700 are, and the response is below..

"As far as optimum temperature is concerned- the unit does not really have an 'optimum' running temperature. Burn the unit to whatever level is required to heat your space. I have never been able to cause damage to this unit (or any of its components); even by artificially overburning it."

I will stick with the rule of thumb that when my after burners start glowing, i should throttle back the air.
and to gradualy heat the unit up so as to help prolong ther life of the casting and avoid the unlikley chance it may crack from the iron expanding too quicky.

anything else i should consider?
i am learning and passing along the information to my wife as well, so we can prolong the life of our wood burning insert.

edited to add:
i generaly get about 700-800F in the embers of the fire when adding a new log before my afterburners start to gliow a very light red. is this somethiong to shoot for or just below those temps?

negative.
no refferenct to over firing in the manual. i need to read the waranty again, but i do not recall it being in there either.
it just had the basics about 1 year 3 year 5 year, etc. only valid if installed by a "professional" etc etc.
i believe it did not have specifics, just the basic leal speak saying that the stove will be warranted under normal wear and tear, abuse and negligance will not be covered under the waranty.
