Feeling the Heat

Made the first wood shift of the season. Is this too early? I want to leave the rest outdoors to season a little longer. Approximately a cord. With the mild weather here, I hope this gets me through December.

If the wood is seasoned it's not too early. However if there is a foot of snow on the ground and you have to trudge through it muttering you'll have the opportunity to look back at days like this and grin or say I wish I would've.

Not at all too early. I bring in as much as I can this time of year - better than doing it when the snow flies and cold weather sets in. I have as much in my garage as it can hold, and try to take from the outside these days for as long as it is not too cold out.

I also do this

Too early, take it back outside.

I load up the boiler shed like you load up the garage. The cold doesn't bother me it's the snow that makes it harder to move the stuff around. I will keep bringing wood from the pile about 300' away until the snow gets too deep or I use all the seasoned wood from those piles.

Suck it up, Buttercup. Snow throwers are great for clearing a path to the wood pile.

Nicely done and in good time. Great use of pallets
in your indoor space. Super planning!

I usually move my special storm wood supply in during the
beautiful dry days days of September.

My German American wife is a great cook too!
Sehr schoen auch.
