Thanks Stint9
Looks like the chart says it's a medium / decent heat output wood. How well does it dry ?

Yes, that looks like Mulberry. I cut and split about a 1/2 cord last November and the smaller splits are ready. I am going to give this stack some more time and will use it if I am running low towards the end of the season. The yellow wet wood will turn dark purplish brown while seasoning. It does throw a lot of sparks.

did it weep milky lookin water at the edges when you cut it.

Seemed pretty heavy and wet I think next year it might be ready.
Sparks are not an issue in the boiler so I will use it there and not in the fireplace.
Did not notice any milky looking water but I have the rest of the tree left and it was at least 70' tall so I will look for it.
As I go thru the other mixed pile of wood I ran into a couple more woods I am not sure of , heck one looks like could be a telephone pole.
Looks like I will have to take pics and learn what kind of wood we have.

Snap. Krackle. Pop.

Seasons fast, splits easy when 1/2 seasoned, burns nice. As a FP burner I like it - but I have to keep the screen on, for sure.

Peace,
