My brother in laws brother has that exact model and loves it works good for him because he is splitting a small amount of medium and smaller wood inside his wood shop to feed the wood stove in the wood shop. Had to be electric because he wants to use it inside only. My BIL says it has pretty good power but the stuff they split was smallish 10 - 12 inch . Did say it is slow with one person because it has the dual thumb safety controls.
The other note is neither of the guys has ever used a larger gas splitter to compare to.

Do you process much wood for your heating needs? If so, I would opt for the gas powered splitter. I've bought the 22 Ton Huskee from Tractor Supply and haven't regretted it. If you do go with a gas model, I think the extra $200 would be worth it. The splitter would be much more capable for not much more money.

I have the 25 Ton SpeeCo splitter, had it for 3 years, no problems.

I split about 8 to 10 cords a year. The 25 ton unit has a 10 hp engine.

I don't have electric near my wood pile so the gas engine works best for me.

Good luck

tom

the electric units work surprisingly well fortheir rating .i have a 5 ton homelite (like the task force) and have no problem whatsoever pushing through fresh cut oak rock maple and whatever else i set on it ,i cut big wood and often split 20 inch plus rounds in my little splitter .so far everyone who has seen mine work is shocked
