We got 4' on the ground and its -25f. The thing that surprised us is the news about all the snow in Texas today.

Yeah. I have a lot of family there and they have been in the deep freeze for several days. One just sent me a note saying it may get up to fifty today for the first time in a while and he is mowing the lawn.

It's been postcard pretty here...big fluffy flakes falling...house all cozy and warm...totally starting to feel like Christmas!

How north are you in BC? Just curious (pm if you don't want to publicize)

See, I told you we'd send it your way. Hang on, there will be more this coming week.

Happiness is a warm fire, a few inches of snow and a bright sun to melt my driveway snow!

BTW Dennis OK to send a few more inches our way thanks

Sure sounds like it:

THIS STORM IS EXPECTED TO BE
VERY STRONG...AND EVEN IF THE TRACK IS NOT VERY CLOSE TO THE
AREA...SNOW IS EXPECTED TO SPREAD ACROSS THE AREA TUESDAY AFTERNOON
AND CONTINUE INTO WEDNESDAY. AS THE LOW DEEPENS TUESDAY NIGHT AND
APPROACHES THE SOUTHERN TIP OF LAKE MICHIGAN...NORTH WINDS WILL
INCREASE ACROSS THE AREA AND BECOME QUITE STRONG FOR TUESDAY NIGHT
AND WEDNESDAY...WITH CONSIDERABLE BLOWING AND DRIFTING OF ANY NEW
SNOWFALL LIKELY IN OPEN AREAS AND ACROSS THE RIDGE TOPS...WHICH MAY
LEAD TO WHITEOUT OR NEAR WHITEOUT CONDITIONS.

SNOW AMOUNTS WITH THIS SYSTEM REMAIN UNCERTAIN AT THIS TIME...BUT IN
EXCESS OF 6 INCHES IS LOOKING POSSIBLE SOUTH AND EAST OF A ROCHESTER
MINNESOTA TO NEILLSVILLE WISCONSIN LINE.

Expect the most numerous lake effect snow showers to impact
areas near Lake Superior from Big Bay to Marquette and over
areas east of Highway 41 to Chatham... Munising and Melstrand.
Additional snowfall between 10 am and early this evening will
be up to 5 inches in these areas. Little if any snow will fall
over inland Marquette County west of a line from Negaunee to
Little Lake. Motorists travelling between Marquette and
Munising... especially along M-28... should be prepared for
visibilities reduced to a half mile at times. Look for the snow
showers to diminish by midnight tonight.

* Widespread snow will move into Upper Michigan Tuesday evening
and increase in intensity Tuesday night. The snow will begin to
taper off later Wednesday. However... strong winds will produce
significant blowing snow into Wednesday evening. In addition...
the strong north winds will also result in heavy lake effect
snow showers downwind from Lake Superior through Wednesday
night.

* Snow accumulations of 10 inches or more are possible Tuesday
night through Wednesday night.

Fortunately, we are not expected to get that much but one forecast does say 5-9" for us. I hope they are wrong.

I hope they're wrong with our forecast too! Cold is ok. A little snow is ok until January 2nd, then it can go away. The last two winters I wasn't able to cut any wood at all because the snow was too deep to get out there. Now it sounds like the third winter in a row where I sit and wish I was cutting wood, but can't. Yuck

HEAVY SNOW AND HIGH WINDS WILL BE POSSIBLE TUESDAY NIGHT AND
WEDNESDAY AS THE FIRST SIGNIFICANT WINTER STORM OF THE SEASON
IMPACTS THE AREA. SNOW WILL MOVE INTO THE AREA TUESDAY MORNING
AND AFTERNOON AND THEN BE HEAVY TUESDAY NIGHT AND WEDNESDAY
BEFORE DIMINISHING WEDNESDAY EVENING. STRONG AND GUSTY WINDS WILL
HIT THE AREA TUESDAY NIGHT AND WEDNESDAY WITH SUSTAINED SPEEDS OF
15 TO 25 MPH AND GUSTS UP TO 35 MPH. THIS WILL PRODUCE
CONSIDERABLE BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW. TOTAL SNOW ACCUMULATIONS
OF 8 TO 12 INCHES WILL BE POSSIBLE...WITH SOME AREAS ACROSS
NORTHEAST IOWA AND SOUTHWEST WISCONSIN RECEIVING IN EXCESS OF
12 INCHES.
