By the end of December we will have used 4 face cord with 17 face cord waiting.

been heating since mid sept... have used almost 2 cords of basswood and about 1/2 a cord of not really seasoned maple and hickory branches. still have 1/2 cord of basswood to carry us through the days till january, then 3 1/2 cords of maple and hickory splits to get through jan and feb, then 4 more cords of basswood for good measure till june.

Burning since September . . . on and off . . . in the last two weeks or so we have switched to 24/7 burning.

The one thing I remarked to my wife just the other day is that I can tell already that we're burning less wood than last year thanks to better seasoned wood and better burning techniques (waiting longer before adding wood to the coals for reloads) . . . the house is just as warm, but we're using a lot less wood.

If I think of it I'll take a pic of my woodshed to show how little wood I have used so far . . . and yes I am a very happy man . . . of course Old Man Winter is just now making his appearance!

The cool weather came in early this year, waited until Halloween to start burning in '08, started about 3 weeks earlier this year and the stacks show it. I was 100% sure I had more than enough, looked like about 2 years worth then mother nature got cold on us early AND I installed a stove in the garage. Gonna be interesting this year.

I have about 4 cords of Larch. The wife got home 2 weeks ago and probably burn 1/3 of a cord so far...... and looks like we'll be hitting the road again beggining of January. Maybe those 4 cords will last me forever......

We had a very warm fall. I've used a lot less wood than last year and have many cords
in reserve.

6 cords in the shed and under tarp outside of shed and 1 ton of coal. Haven't touched this cache yet.
The weather has been nice (till yesterday) and I've had time so I have ben cleaning up the remnants of a 20 cord heap out back of the shop that has been tarped for 4-5 years. Filling grape crates and moving them to the back door with the loader. I've used 4 of these so far . I think maybe 2 face cord so far in the 18TR. Will fire the woodchuck next week and get into the main cache.

I haven't used a whole lot. I did some calculations on past years and amount of energy used to heat my house and decided that i'd alot myself Xft in Nov, Xft in Dec, etc etc. with varying percentages of the wood stash used each month. (I just don't have enough to burn maxed out for all winter)

Well, at the end of November I should have used 7ft of the stack (just a tad over a face cord cause it's 5ft highx16" deep)

I had used about 2ft.

Then in december I give myself another almost 10 feet, but I'm still somewhere around another 4 feet, and I'm traveling for a good week+ later this month.

So, yeah, haven't burned very much, haven't needed to.

Although, my neighbor must be watching my woodpile, cause he asked where the wood went. he said he saw me taking it in, but hasn't noticed any smoke from the chimney. I explained seasoning/burning temps to him, and now he thinks the other woodburner in the neighborhood must be doing something wrong (like I've said 100x before).

The wood I'm burning now was processed before the wood I burned last year cuz it was trapped in the back of the shed. I've had to sort of tunnel my way around the newer stuff that's in front of it so it's hard to estimate how much I've burned. I'm sure it's way less than a cord.

The "newer" stuff was cut and split around the same time but it spent last winter out under the snow. I think the 2 cord in front is prbbly dry enough but I really need to clear out the 3 cord in the back of the shed anyway. I redesigned the other half of the shed this Summer and want to do the same with this side.

I've been burning pretty solid since the first week in Nov., by the end of this weekend I'll probably be about 3/4 or a cord into it. 1/3 of it was ash and the rest has been Hickory. The ash is pretty well seasoned the hickory is in the Mid 20's for m/c so less then ideal. It lights fast on good coals and doesn't sizzle or show moisture on the ends so it's not too bad.

Burned about .5 cord of pine, mostly nights and weekends until recently. I've got a cord of soft maple on deck, then a 2 cord holz hausen of red oak batting cleanup. If need be I've got another ~cord of oak in the wings. I'm thinking I'll hold some of the soft maple for chill chasers in the Spring.

About a half chord so far. 4 1/2 left under the gazebo/wood shed with maybe 2 chords under tarp for reserve. 1 chord recently split for next years supply.

Been burning since mid-October (?) and so far I've been able to add to the pile while going to get more from the woods to burn. We'll see this weekend how my resolve holds up . . .and if the Kubota will start after sitting out in this crazy wind!

i know better but i must admit thats a tough one for me ,i cant stand the sight of a dwindling load in the firebox

Unfortunately I am not as well off as most of you. I am down to 2 face cords already. I cut every weekend but I am cutting for 3 stoves! (My Home, Parents Home, Shop) I am planning on trying to get a few years ahead but with -30 F windchills it is a little hard to leave the 70 F house!

Been burning since late Oct gone thru maybe 1.5 cords But found weather and time to restock in mid to late nov. with some good rounds to save for the heart of winter.. Jimbo you may want to plug that Kubota in to get it warmed up n ready to run when you go out and cut more.. That wind cuts rite thru ya

I said from the beginning that we didn't put up enough. I got a late start. I scrounged roughly 4 cords and I am really pleased with the quality of the wood. Last year was our first year and we didn't start until december - so I wasn't sure how much I'd need this year.

I also thought that some of the dead wood I had scrounged at the end of the summer would be good for this year and it's not. So I may have to buy some. I still have 3 cords left - but we seem to be going through it. I hate to see the pile shrink.

My supply is under cover...snow cover!

I started with 128' (6 cord) in mid october and I am down to 103'

So I have burned 1.17 cord in 1.5 months of the shoulder season.

Sub zero temps arrived after the snowstorm so wood usage is on the rise...

It will be close...but I am hopeful that I won't need to break into next years wood early.

Got about 5 cords left, little over a cord/month. Gona be close.
Got enough to get thru the cold months anyway, March may mean I have to run the furnace though.

Been burning unstackables since early October. Probably a cord or two. Haven't touched the 12 cord under the roof yet.

My first year burning and it is mostly nights and weekends. It has been running 24 hours the last few days. I probably burned more than I needed to because I as fascinated with the stove, but probably have not burned more than a cord. I have been replacing faster than I have been using it so I probably have about 8 cords stocked up and will be cutting a locust that has been dead for 10 years tomorrow. I probably only have about 3 cords seasoned, but that should be plenty for me.

I'm trying to get 3 years ahead so I always have good seasoned wood. I have about 18 face cords right now and have a big Maple tree and a Walnut to cut down...... That should do it....
