I bought a used MS361 on E-Bay and put a new chain on it before setting it aside waiting for my son to make first use of it. He came out this morning and after doing a little limbing, cutting up a Maple I dropped yesterday (~18" diameter, flat on the ground, with clean bark - the best of cutting), and dropping a Cherry of similar size himself he commented on the 'new' saw.

He said, leaving out the more colorful of his choice of words, "it cuts like a Light-saber". I grabbed it up a little later. Gotta say, I have to agree with him.

That size bar you running on it?

Nice, I normally run a 20 in. but also have a 16in. set up. They are very sweet saws just a little hard to hear the chirp on choke if you miss it they will flood bad.(when fireing cold)

My primary bar for the 361 is an 18" as well. Makes for one nice firewood saw. I love it when you can just "drop" the saw through a log.

Actually, not too bad. Does it pull like an 880 - NO! But for the 10% of the time that I use the 25" - it is respectable. A SHAAARP chain is the key to performance with the 361 and 25" bar.

MS 361 is an outstanding firewood saw. I have an 18" and 20" bar for mine. I think I slightly prefer the 20" bar.

Well, if I had a ported 460 - that would be my goto, but the 361 does work with a 25".

I use the 361 as much as possible the 361 is much smother less vibe than the 460. Running this combo 50/50 and its sweet to put down the 460. The 260/460 combo that most love just sucks imo its like 20/80 yes the 260 dream to run just doesn't come into play enough for me. So if I had a go to saw it would be both lol.

was wonderin' what a light saber cuts like. Guess I need to buy a new Stihl to find out.

BTW, I knew he was using the saw, I felt a disturbance in the force.

Good saw, I sliced through 10 cords of oak last Feb with mine, my 10 yr old son said I looked like luke skywalker out there.
