Has anyone had contact with Quadra-Fire to resolve the problem with very high flame on Warm restart?

No, I haven't contacted Quadrafire, but I do have that problem. Seems like it would be an easy fix. Just needs to be programmed so that the red call light won't come on until the green light goes off.

How do you get a restart so fast the green light won't go out ? Maybe a drafty house, thermostat too close to the stove.

The green light means it's still at or above 200 degrees which, with a very hot cast burn pot could stay on for quite some time. The anticipator on the thermostat might also be set too tight.

Yeah, I've got a White-Rodgers t-stat, and I'm pretty sure there is no anticipator that I can change. I think I'll probably just get a new t-stat that I CAN program the swing for 2 degrees or so.

If you've got the old style thermostat with the spring and pointer on it, you can adjust the anticipator. But heck for $25 you can get this really neat programmable job that I pointed out above.

I'm curious too as to if you changed thermostats. To reprogram the stove so it wouldn't turn back on until the green light (200F) goes out would be the WRONG way to go. That green light stays on for a long time after the room fan shuts down. The room temp would drop dramatically if you did this.

clunk and tjnamtiw, yes I got a new t-stat (Lux 500) and I was able to set the anticipator/swing setting to two degrees in each direction. This doesn't take care of the green light issues (which I'm not really concerned with now), but it definately took care of the high flames issue. All in all, I'm very happy with the results. Definately worth the $30!
