Has anyone used PA Pellets? The garden center near my house has them for $225/ton. They are getting a shipment in on Monday, and I'm buying a couple of bags, but was wondering about getting some feedback on them. The guy I talked to at the garden center said that they have sold them for five years, and have had only two complaints.

Got any more info on the garden center? I haven't tried PA's yet but I may take a ride if there close enough.

One of the worst pellets i"ve ever burnt. Very dirty and low heat.

It's on 190 in Enfield. I can get the name if you're still interested.

I seem to remember the same thing said about PA Pellets in the past....not good reviews, in general.

Billg, do they have any other brands? What else is available nearby?

I purchased 14 ton of these last year, got 2 ton left to burn. These are not the best pellet I've burned but the price was right last year at $199.00/ton. If I could get them for that price now, I would purchase them again. My boiler will burn just about any pellet I think so if I were you, I would buy a 1/2 dozen bags to test burn in your stove prior to buying any quanity of them.

Nope, that's all they carry. I got CJ's Pellet Depot in town and CT Hardwood Outlet 5 miles away. I have 4 ton of NEWP in the basement from CT Hardwood Outlet, but if I can find a deal, I got room for a lot more!

They're $225 a ton for a reason...the garden center can't get rid of them. PA Pellets are some of the worst pellets I've ever burned. Low heat and very dirty.

If you get a chance, stop by Phelps & Sons on Rt 30 in Vernon to see the pellets that they carry. That is where I get my pellets from. They are just around the corner from the junction with Rt. 31. I use "The Wood Pellet Co." premium hardwood pellets from Summerhill PA. From what I have read here the pellets are a little long by most other makers standards but my stove doesn't seem to care. I burned four bags of Okies late this fall and I had quite a bit more ash then from the ones I am burning. Wouldn't hurt to try them. Also a good dealer of wood and pellet stoves.

They will burn but lots of ash. Also last year there was a problem with a lot of the pellets being too long, and they would log jam in the auger chute. I still have some left and Im burning them right now. This time of year if you need pellets I think thats not a bad price.

I burning them now, yeah they long, and have a lot of ash , just like last years pellets and the year before (different brands)

Thanks for the feedback from everyone. I burned Michigan Pellets two years ago and got huge amounts of ash from them, so I think I'll stay away from the PA Pellets.
