Merry Christmas Everyone,

We are experiencing a blizzard here in Independence, MO. Somewhere around 6" of snow but it is hard to tell with the crazy wind we are experiencing. This is our first full winter burning. That with our new windows and doors have made our little home cozy. I'm shocked at how little natural gas we are using! We have gone through 1/2 cord of oak and 1/2 cord of bald cyprus (scrounge wood).

Just wanted to say hello and report in.

Merry Christmas to everyone. Don Ed just to the SW of you we got 14.1" in OKC. Lots of stranded motorists and accidents out there. Be careful if you have to go out. Living room is a cozy 75.

Merry Christmas fellow Missourian snowing hard in St Louis area but I dont think we are going to get about 1 or 2 ". Northstar burning along 70 upstairs.

That's one good looking insert you have there, I 'am glad to see you are having good sucess with your wood burner, this is also my first year burning wood at our home and it's is the best move i've ever made, be cafeful out there in those weather conditions.

Been burning since we moved to this house 9 years ago it had a POS heatilater tore it out and installed northstar.Not going anywhere today.

We are a lot further north of you.....and it rained this morning. I talked to a nephew who lives only 15 miles south of us and he said it was all ice. Another 15 miles north of us was getting snow. Crazy weather. Right now we only have wind and it is still warm; Saginaw reporting 37.

Coming down a bit heavy west of the state line, too. But what more can a guy ask for...warm fire, white Christmas, and the wife out shoveling snow! Nice looking pic, Don - just don't let a spark get out of the stove and into the tissue paper / gifts!

Hijack, woodracer, where did you get your northstar and how do you like it? I'm right across the river and looking into a northstar/7100/constitution when I finish my basement. end hijack.

I'm just east of STL and the temp has dropped 25 in 24 hours. It snowed all day but less than a 1/2" accumulation here. I'm wasting wood in m open hearth FP as I type.

Forshaw on lindbergh they where the only ones that would deal on pricing.We like it alot it really puts out the heat.We only used 10 splits yesterday from 7:30 am to 10:30 pm and had every one down to t-shirts.The old heatakator I would have when though a wagan load of wood.
