Hello

We own a NPS40. This morning I started it up, the pellets came down fine but it wouldn't light. I've been looking for troubleshooting tips but I can't seem to find any. I'm thinking its the ignition that maybe needs to be replaced but like I said I can't find anything. I thought I'd come to you guys.

I'm not sure if this is pertinent but last night a fuse blew in the house that shut the stove down. It did work all right after that but we thought that was strange since nothing else was turned on to blow a fuse.

Thanks guys for all of your help!!

Do you have the owners manual? This is directly from it:

Failure to ignite pellets:
- Poor quality or damp pellets take longer to light.
- Push the burn pot back against the ignitor tube making sure the ignitor lines up to the hole in the burn
pot.
- Make certain the air control rod is pushed in to start up position.
- Check all the electrical connections on the 120°F (49°C) temperature sensor located on the exhaust
channel.
- Place a jumper wire between the two leads on the 120°F (49°C) temperature sensor and if the ignitor
works, replace the sensor.
- If it still fails to light, replace the ignitor.

i have had this happen to me when i do a quick cleaning after cool down

i just unplug the stove, wait 5 min then start er up again

if this keeps happening, you might need to order a new ignitor. in the mean time, you can light the stove with either gel or firestarter log pieces.
