I burn 24/7. Once per week, shut my stove down (usually try when it's warmest outside), scrape the end of the pellet tube with a screw driver, of carbon while stove is shutting down and auger screw is still turning but after embers have stopped burning. Scoop out the ash from the sides and burn plate into a metal covered bucket. Wait 1 hour or so and vacuum out the ash from fire box (all sides, top, bottom, door), take out the burn plate and vacuum under that, scrape the plate of carbon if necessary. Take out the baffle plate and vacuum behind that, getting all the nooks and crannies. Take the baffle plate to the sink and rinse all the ash off and dry with a paper towel. Unscrew the t-cap and dump it. (2 tsp. full), clean the glass with a damp paper towel. All take 20-30 min. tops. Did full combustion blower and pellet vent cleaning in the fall before next burn. I didn't take the convection blower (room air blower) off and clean it but probably should have. Will do it before next season.

In between weekly cleanings, several times during the day (when home, or 3 times a day when working) I open the door and scoop out the ash to keep the burn plate free of ash for better air circulation. I also wipe the glass 1-2 times a day with a dry paper towel to keep it clean.
