Having trouble using PA Pellets, 1st year user of these pellets and I am finding out these are very dirty pellets compared to Bearfoot or Drycreek which I used last year. My problem is that the stove will shut off and I find the burn pot is empty like it will not feed properly. My feedrate is set at 3.5-4 range and my temp is set at 75. When the stove is just cleaned it burns great for the first week and in the middle of the 2nd week it just shuts off. I have an Harman p61 w/o automatic start. Last year I burned bearfoot and drycreek and never had one problem, this year I am finding that I have to clean the prob all the time because these pellets are very, very dirty. I could go 4 weeks or better last year w/o emptying the ash pan now I am emptying every 2 weeks when I have to clean the stove. Anybody had a similar problem please lend some information.. Thanks

Are you doing anything to clean the stove besides emptying the ash pan? That won't cut it.

They are junk always have been .... get another pellet and cut them with a 70/30 mix to get rid of them.

Yep, I agree Woodsman....haven't burned them, but haven't heard anything much good about them either.

Mac there is a place near me that has them for sale at 177 a ton picked up. Says he can't give em away. Millers market olean ny if any one is interested. They are just plain crap pellets some are 3" long and tons of fines in the bags.

Like Woodsman said, they are junk pellets. I had to mix mine 50/50 with another brand just to get rid of them.
I never had clean my stove as many times as I did when I burned the PA Pellets.
Hopefully you don't have more than a ton of them.
Stick with the Barefoots, you won't go wrong.

Thanks for the information, I clean the stove thoroughly every couple weeks and find the Pa Pelllets are just a junk pellet that is very ashy and very dirty causing buildup on the probe and that has to be taken out and cleaned all the time to get a good control.. Got rid of the pellets today and bought a ton of barefoot and am going to clean the stove tomorrow and start fresh with barefoot will let everyone who responded know how I make out and how the barefoot burn. .. Thanks and HAPPY NEW YEAR..

Yep, PA pellets aren't good, from what I've read. But it could be worse.....you could be stuck with ACP's or Infernos......now that's BAD!!

I think you'll be very happy with the Barefoots....enjoy the heat!

Hmm I burned PA Pellets last year without issue, must be producing bad batches this year.

I am burning PA's now they are no worse then other brands that I have burned.

I agree with BXpellet and derrikp we burned them last year and we are burning them now. I have tryed many other hardwood pellets with same results. The only pellet I have used that realy make me happy are softwood but they are hard for us to get.So until I find a source for softwood pellets the PA pellets are just fine with me. Jeff

I just found a bag from last year out in my garage, dumped them in the stove, they are rather long 1 1/2" or so. Didn't remember that from last year, good thing I didn't buy more this year.

HAVENT HAND ANY REAL PROBLEMS WITH PA BURN BUT I DO HAVE TO GIVE THE STOVE A GOOD CLEANOUT ONCE A WEEK, UNFORTUNATLY THIS IS MY FIRST YEAR WITH A PELLET STOVE AND I BOUGHT A TON OF ACP...WHAT A BUNCH OF CRAP EVEN MIXING WITH THE PAS TO GET RID OF THEM SUCK....I HATE ACP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
