brrrrrrrrrr.

That's cold for ya, no doubt. My weather report looks like yours, 'cept its the same from November to March.

Well, don't worry about the wind chill unless you're sat outside looking in at your Oslo. It was down to 4 here during the week - my Oslo worked well - watch out for frozen pipes - keep the furnace ticking on once in a while

Yep. Looks like you are letting it slip over into East Virginia. I normally do the night burn with three 16 pound splits in the 30 but it looks like I lock and load for tonight. And actually have to drag my old butt out of bed early. And actually turn the blower on on the thing for the first time this year.

26 below last night here, our oslo kept the house warm, 70 or so, I did get up at 2:30 and fill er up though.
I'll probably do the same...get up around 2 or 3 to reload. Stay warm folks!

-32°C here and I let the fire go out! Stone cold.

I knew I had to clean out the stove so I raked the coals forward, opened up the air, and went with the wife out on the town. Just got home and took out all the ashes, cleaned the glass, loaded her up, tucked in a 1/4 Super Cedar, and tossed in a match. She'll be toasty warm in no time.

6 degrees here and dropping to 0 tonight...been that way since Christmas. My dog wakes me up about 2 am to put wood on the "old buck"....guess she is cold. If I don't respond, she noises under the covers and won't come out until morning :) My weather report can be found on my weather station web page, link below.

Your Oslo should do just fine. I am in WV also with an Oslo, and it is 75 degrees in here before the bedtime load up, and the bedroom at the end of the hall is just the way I like it for sleeping.

Coldest stretch we've had so far this winter. She'll eat a lot of hardwood this week. I can already feel the cold air battling the stove as I sit here and type. I would love to have better windows and insulation. Or maybe an NC30 purring in the corner instead.

Mine is just coming up to full roll with the largest load it has seen in two years. I just decided I don't want to get up early.

Stoke up that Lopi and enjoy.

Oh, she'll be stoked. I'm into by best white oak, red oak, and hickory right now. Variety of sizes, and sounds like bowling pins when you knock 2 splits together. Just wish I had another cubic foot of space in which to place said "bowling pins".

south eastern wisconsin is at 0 right now...
-7 "real feel temp"

my enviro venice 1700 insert in my ZC fireplace is doing surprisingly well. i used the furnace ot get the chil out of the air in the morning, but since then it has kept the cold at bay and the house at 63-68 degrees. a little cold for some of your tastes, but the stove i have is rated to heat 74,000 btu's and is keeping my 3000 sq foot home somewhat warm.

Clarksburg WV wood burner here 13 degrees here and Lopi Endeavor cranked up

At the moment I think of the posters that ask about the burn tubes glowing red. At the moment in the 30, all four tubes are glowing. And the temp in this joint is going up fast.

It is under control but rocking. Haven't done one of these burns since the nine degree nights last year. I know if I go outside all that I will smell is hot stainless steel smells.

76* in the woodstove room and 550* on the stovetop.

I'd say you've got plenty of headroom with your Oslo. No worries. ;-)

It's coming down off of a full load. I'll stoke it up here in a bit.

We expect single digits tonight, but add to that the wind coming tomorrow. I don't know how you guys up in Alaska and Canada handle it all the time, but I feel spoiled when my house inside lies about the outside weather. It's always a balmy 74F in here, and if I never had to go outside, I would not know how cold it is.

I learned this today while moving some wood inside. I got thirsty and downed half a bottle of Aquafina. Then man did I get cold out there! More cold to come!!!

It got down to 8 degrees in this part of WV at 6 am. and house a cold 71 degrees. Stove was hungry so I had to feed it

Just 1.5 hrs East of you it is currently -2 (without the wind chill) and 74 in the woodstove room. I loaded the stove at 10:30, 2:30 and 6.

Vinnie-You are in Clarksburg and don't have free natural gas?? I know the gas companies like to put their wells on folks' property--you're not one of them?

Hello Vinnie! It is 8 am and I am a distance South of you at 9 degrees. I slept in like a hibernating bear and woke up to a frigid 68 degrees in here and so I had to stick my face in the stove before the coffee pot. That delightful snap, crackle and pop makes me think of breakfast as soon as it warms up enough in here to open the fridge and get the milk.

No, I don't get free gas but my neighbor does I get all my wood from their lot. They just had a gas well put in. I deliver auto parts every night to Parson.
