Replacement Glass for Quadra Fire

How bad was it cracked? my inserts been cracked for over a year, I caulked it with furnace cement, looks like crap but sure works good, they want over $200 for a replacement cause it's a wierd shape.....

We had a customer who broke a glass on a 7100, and they really wanted to burn it while waiting for new glass. They took a cookie tin and cut it to fit and clamped that where the glass was supposed to go. Pretty funny but I guess it worked. I saw their door laying at the shop. They have had broken glass a few times and we wanted to install it ourselves to make sure nothing was done wrong.

Anyway... under the tabs... its the same stuff they use for some of the gaskets on pellet stoves. like a felt almost. I saw in the pellet forum someone had bought a sheet and was making their own gaskets out of it. Not sure what it was called though. If I replace a glass I usually just leave it and put the tab right on the glass. Never broken one yet. You just have to make the tabs snug, but not tight. If you replace the gasket between glass and stove, check the tightness every day for a week or so, cause it will get loose.
