Thank God for global warming. Think of how brutally cold it would be otherwise. Our SUVs, lawn mowers and chain saws are saving the planet right now. ;-)

Got to 1` degree here in Mid Missouri this morning. The chickens didn't want to go outside. Jus stayed on the roost. Too cold to crow.

Wish I had something bigger than my PE Super 27 that would hold fire longer.

was 4 degrees again this morning when i got up now it is 3 -12 wind chill

It was -30 last night and is -25 right now in downtown Bruno MN. 30 miles s of Duluth. I'm going through the wood today.

Sure is alot colder in Bruno, MN. than Plymouth, MN. It was only -10 last night, I guess the city holds the heat in the buildings or something like that. I was gonna look at some property in Bruno that was for sale. Nice to know others on forum from MN are doing ok!

Sunday morning -32 and the power went out at 7:30 am. I sure was glad I had the Liberty going. It was only out for 2 hrs but I"ll bet some homes got pretty cold at that temp. This am I looked at the thermometer and thought, great its only -18.

Hey Doug, How big is your Liberty Stove and how long are your burn time in temps like that?
Jim

The Liberty is the largest Lopi at 3.1 cu ft of firebox according to there website. I just got it the 1st of Nov. and am still learning how to use it. If I damper all the way down, I have coals in the morning(7.5-8 hrs) but low heat. I am trying rounds at night (5"-6") to see if it will burn longer and hotter. I like the stove so far.

I will admit that having 120 acres of woods 3.5 miles from the house is very convenient. The tractor and dump trailer help alot to. I grew up in Afton MN and my dad was always scrounging for wood. Burning wood is alot of work, I don't know if my daughters will do it, I think they had enough when they were home.

Hey Don how about a snow /weather update for what is headed our way on the east side of the state Mark

Its 17 here in Dutchess County NY, but there is a howling wind outside which makes the real feel temp about 7. I have both Wood and Pellet stoves going and the temperature on my first floor is 75 and on the second floor 81. The wife and kids love it. Went snow tubing yesterday and the temp was 10 and windy as all hell came back home and the house was nice and toast. Happy Burning Hearth Family.

" Sounds like fun! I like the pic of your DW. I'm about to join the DW club in a couple weeks. Can't wait. Enjoy the rest of your winter, KatWill!!"
