the lever on my stove was really stiff. Its below the door...Napolean... I left it that way cause at least it would stay where you put it.
I finally got tired of its super stiff movement...I put a bit of Vaseline on the works and a few hours later it was SMOOTH...what a difference..
I wiped off any excess and like the ease of movement...

this thing is not going to move on me in the middle of the night is it ?..due to some heat movement
or something....

Good fix!

Powdered or liquid graphite would also do it.

Keep warm.

It should never move by itself from your set position.

It won't move by itself (or at least really shouldn't). It'll be interesting to see how long your fix lasts - it seems like the vaseline would either melt off or collect grit and not be a good long term sollution...but hey maybe it will be good to go for 10 years. If it goes back to its old ways, a powdered or dry lube is the way to go.

Graphite is the typical fix. Vaseline will burn off after a while. You also need to make sure there are no flies in the vaseline, it could sometimes blow your mind, causing you to get stuck here all the time.

It isn't you, isn't me
