As part of a regular maintenance schedule or ever? If so what are the details?

And one other question.

Would a burn pot that is warping at the holes where the draft fan air is introduced into the burn pot be a problem? I am just wondering if I should replace this thing now while I can still find one, or does it really matter?

Personally, I do not oil anything on a pellet stove. I find the oil just serves to attract and hold dust and debris in area's that should not have dust and debris. As far as the burn pot, I would change it. If it is starting to warp, it will eventually warp to the point where you will not be able to seperate the burn pot liner from the burn pot ( I am assuming they are 2 pieces?)

Thanks.

there is just one piece on these stoves for the burn pot.

On my 2000 Enviro EF-2 FS (Older stove)

The auger motor gearbox is packed in grease. It is a complicated assembly and so far the grease has not needed to be replaced. I just re-smooged it around a bit to make sure the gears and cogs were well lubed.

The convection blower motor gets cleaned with electronic spray cleaner then gets a few drops of light machine oil every time I clean the dust out of the blower cage (about once a ton).

Some people also squirt a shot of powdered graphite into their auger chute on a regular basis to keep it from squeaking (I don't have to).

On my burn pot. I replaced the burn pot liner due to warping. It was curved a lot on the front edge which allowed combustion air to bypass the pellets in the liner.
I would try to straighten the pot if you could or order a new one.

Your manual should tell you what if anything needs oil and the proper weight oil to use.

Follow those recommendations.

Bear,

I am not ignoring you. I can't send any PM's. I yakked with macman too much last night. I am over my limit in PM's in a 24 hour period. Just call me gabby I guess?

Sorry to jack the thread.

The manual should have the details on what needs to be maintained.
