Yesterday I ran my advantage 2 t stove on 3 for awhile, i usually run it on 1 or 2, lately on 2, well after a few hours noticed as i have over the years the hopper gets rather warm inside, the metal that faces the fire get's very hot and i noticed pellets had a burn mark on the side of the them that i presume were from the metal hopper.
11 yrs of burning i never ran it above 3 i would think it would be dangerous, i also will not run it on 3 if i'm not home, anyone else have this problem?

i have been running full blast on 5 since its been cold and my hopper gets hot, but not that hot.

i wonder if you could line the hopper with foil and foil tape ...?

When was the last time you pulled the convection blower and cleaned it really well. Brush the vanes and blast with air or vacuum it well.

You may just have an air flow issue not cooling the stove as it should.

Or your burning them super hot magic pellets we are all looking for. Care to share the name brand?

My Advantage does the same thing. I have one of those laser thermometers that reads surface temp and that wall read 140 degrees.

There is a Hi Temp(250) snap switch on the stove back wall. I run my stove on 4 with the fan on 5.

Just cleaned it good few months ago, first convection blower clean in 10 yrs!
