Couple questions. First being where would one find the build date of their stove? I have a Harman P43 and didn't see any direct reference to it on the label? Is it part of the S/N? That would be the only thing I found close to it. It begins with a WHI-0808xxxx. I bought the stove new last month. It was the last one they had and the display model.

Also I was trying to find the changes they made to the P43 series over the years. I understand it is a fairly newer model based off the P38. What I have noticed is that my stove does have the newer burnpot without the holes in front of the auger and I also have the yellow vacuum switch in the hopper. Anything else I should be aware of?

Thanks
Mark

If your dealer calls harman, the warrantee department can tell them when the build date was....i dont believe its anywhere on the stove (but maybe the box the stove comes in?)

ok, now for the rest of the question.......

Wh stands for Warnock-Hershey, and the number following is the serial number of the stove....

There have not been many, if any, changes to the P43 since they came out about 1- 1-1/2 years ago....none I am aware of....if your burnpot has no holes down by the auger, most likely, mechanically, its up to date. I do believe the newest units do have a mechanical hopper switch rather than the yellow breather in the hopper......we have had the breathers clog with fines and create problems, which is why the breathers (yellow thingy) no longer exist in the newest versions.....not a big deal really.

On my XXV stove, there's a big label on the right hand side of the stove that has the serial number near the top right hand of the label & the build date is at the bottom (marked by hole punches for the year & month). Check for this label on your stove & you may find the info you're looking for.

Thanks for the replies. I looked all over the stove and saw nothing having the holes punched in it showing the build date. Oh well. It's really not that important I was more concerned about the stove being up to date mechanically and electronic wise.

Thanks again.

When you open the box that the stove is shipped in, there will be a final check off list closed into the hopper lid. This tag should have the inspection date upon it as well as other things.

This Is a picture of the label on the back of my Harman Advance. The red arrow points to the build date. Good luck

How old is your Advance?
My Advance was born 2006 and does not have any dates on the tag.
The XXV was born 2005 and does.

I didn't have the pleasure of unboxing my stove, done by the dealer but there was the list you are talking about in the hopper. Only half a sheet but there was a date on it of 7-28-09. Build date wasn't anywhere on it though.

My label on my P61A looks the same, I have yet to find a build date also. Not really important, just kinda curious.
