Just got back from the Home Depot in Glastonbury, CT.

They got a shipment of what looks to be about 1 5 skids of pellets, all of them Fireside Ultra.

Damn, was hoping some Winter's Warmth would be coming.

I purchased pellets from Home Depot at the start of the season. They couldn't tell me what I would get delivered, only what they had for brands. I received Fireside Ultras and we liked them. Ash was low with little build up and hardly any fines or dust. Last year we had Greenway and they were awfull. Ash was high and it was constantly building up with fluffy ash, LOADS of fines. We just ordered 2 more tons from Home Depot and this time, after telling us again they did not know what would be delivered, the sales associate went and checked inventory. We had him tag 2 tons of Stove Chow. They delivered it into my driveway. I have to break it down to move to my shed. When I did this 3 days later I found out they shipped me the Winter Warmth. I ran right in and searched this forum and found this thread. After reading it I figured maybe we lucked out. Well, after burning 8 or so bags I'm not sure now. There is a lot of fluffy ash buildup like last years. The flame is not as high but the heat output is still very good. I'm not at all pleased with HD and their "what you see is not what you will get" policy. A friend of mine bought from Lowes and it was the same deal. Oh well, live and learn.

The only ones I ever see is Freedom Fuel, Pennington, and Inferno.

Lots of people here call it Home Cheapo, and that seems to pass on to their pellets.

I'd rather get my money's worth.

Lowes seems to carry a better quality pellet, what are your thoughts ?

wife sure likes that pellet stove crankin....

Have burned 35 to 40 bags of Winter Warmth so far and these are good pellets. Burn very hot with little ash produced. Not as good as the Blazer pellets HD had last year, they were just fantastic. Will continue to use them until my dealer gets Okanagan's in. I want to try those as I hear they are great also.

After getting Freedom Fuel From the depot and hating them. I went back today to test there other brands. Fireside Ultra, Stove Chow, and pennigntons. All brands I havent tested yet. Bought two bags of each. With the weather here hovering around 40 I will wait to test these until it gets cold again. Still like TSC selection of pellets (there brand made by energex, and maine wood pellet) Lowes Clean fuel is pretty good also.

Despite what some say Fireside Ultra are not a bad pellet. Especially at $4.95 a bag.

I've had worse at $7.00 a bag.

Would love to try Winter's Warmth tho.

Here's hoping they make their way to a Middletown, Glastonbury, Hartford location.
