has anyone tried these lately? just picked up 5 bags from hd to try.look very dark in color.will try in a day or two.not sure whom makes these.doesnt say on bag.

I have heard bad things about these by I myself picked up two bags last week.. you can't beat HD's prices around my area. I haven't burned them I am burning fireside ultras I picked up from there as well.

I've only burned a-half bag so far and can't complain, but that's hardly a comprehensive test. The one thing I can say is their pellet length is a bit shorter than the Green Team I recently got from Lowes. I'd say their average size is less than 1 inch, may 3/4".

I'm burning them. Good heat but very dirty and a lot of ash.

Where they made?, used to be a plant in North Adams Mass years ago

agreed, i am just finishing up 2 ton i got at HD
they appear to be two pellets mixed together, one a little lighter than the other
have all the negative characteristics a pellet can have except they throw off amazing heat in my santa fe insert
with a flue thermometer up to 260 degress, other brands top out at 210, with an infrared thermometer have about 450 at the exchange tubes, other brands top out at 340

very dirty/dusty pellets, lots of fines, break easily into little pieces...way more dust in my cornvac vacuums and everything is dirtier than last year
lots of clinker, lots of ash, glass gets dirty quickly etc

but since i burn pellets for heat, i use them straight up when its below 30 and mixed with other brands above 30
i would continue to use them based simply on that

I bought a ton from HD in upstate ny and they burnt terrible kept loading up my firepot after about 3 hrs. I took them back and picked up Fireside ultra Not bad
