I contacted Sooteater (Gardus Inc.) about how their product would work with my 90° and 35' run. They said "The RCH205 SootEater Chimney Cleaning System should work just fine for you. Follow the detailed instructions and cover the opening with the included plastic cover - once you spin and push lightly past the 1st tee, you'll have smooth sailing to the top."

Rather than fork over the big dollars for a Viper system, I guess I'll order two Sooteater kits and see how it works for me. If it doesn't work for my application, I can always sell the two kits and buy the Viper.

I'll let you know how it works later in the year. Thanks for the info and feedback guys!

You don't have to have two full kits, extra rods can be purchased separately.

That's true. I bought the Sooteater for about $65 (includes 6 rods). I also bought 4 additional rods for about $50. So if you need more than 4 additional rods you might as well get the second Sooteater -- its cheaper and you get an extra cleaning head.

I dismissed this product for my chimney when I first saw it because it states "up to 18' long" all over their website and figured it was too flexible to work much further. I take it there is no such limitation?

At some point there would probably be an issue. I had no problem with 9 rods (27 feet). I think going quite a bit beyond that would be fine, but at some point it might be a problem.
