Has anyone installed one recently and could advise me as to the proper way to do it. I have the 2490 model resolute acclaim. Thanks, Paul

1- remove firebricks
- lift the side ones 1/2" or so and swing the front edge into the firebox and remove. A flat screwdriver can be used, carefully, to lift them.
- after removing the 2nd side brick, use caution that the rear bricks don't fall forward and break
- tilt the top of the rear firebricks toward you and remove the metal clip that joins them and remove
2- Remove the 2 rectangular metal rear sealing plates (rear left and right). I believe the socket wrench size is 7/16"
3- Remove the upper fireback/damper. 7/16" again, I believe. This can be a bit awkward and having access through the top
stovepipe opening will be helpful, if not necessary. Check to see if the lower edge of the fireback is warped rearward and pushing into
the combustion package. This would be the result of overfiring. It should be replaced if warped. They cost @ $50 without damper.
Your old damper should be okay to use and can be installed on the new one and adjusted to close properly on the new fireback's gasket.

This is what it'll look like at that point. Good luck. It's not hard, unless one of the bolts breaks.
Apply anti-sieze to all bolt threads when reassembling.
