I sure hope that the fire wasn't caused by a stove - that sure would be bad not only for that business but for the general public view of wood burning as a whole.

As to the stoves being sold - I imagine the could be sold off depending on exactly what sort of damage they took, but certainly not as new. I have no idea of what impact it would have on a warranty. Actual impact on the stove would all depend on where they were in relation to any fire that was burning. I could see if a stove was sitting in the right spot near some good hot fire it could get to overfire temps but I bet most of the displays were damaged by water not heat as they were likely at floor level. I imagine smoke got into everything though so they would take a bit of cleaning to get that smell off - yuck. Wood smoke smell alone isn't nice but add in all the plastics and other things in a building and bleah. I once had to try and clean up a few computers that were in a building that burned - the smell isn't one that I want to be around again.

Good luck on their quick recovery to business as usual.

I can't access the link. Was it a total loss?

What a shame.

I'm surprised that there were what sounds like a lot of pellets inside the store's structure, though. I'd want a shed in the back of the parking lot for those. I'm picturing a loading dock and a discarded cigarette...
