I am looking for views on cleaning methods. Do most of you open bypass and sweep into stove? any other tricks out there for this stove?
Just wondering how everyone does their thing....

anyone? I know there are some princess owners out there......:)

At the end of January, my idea of cleaning is a load of pine. I might have something more to share in May.

It depends on your connector pipe configuration. If it's straight, I've heared tell
of people that simply open the bypass like you say.

I've always preferred to disconnect the stovepipe and clean it separately. THat way
I don't have a mess inside my stove that I need to clean out. And I wonder if any
of the debris could clog the cat. Of course, it helps if you've designed your connector
to be easily disassemblable. I found single-wall to be fine, so mine isn't too tough.

And if you have an offset like me, you probably need to disassemble it anyhow.

Bottom line, there's no absolute right or wrong way. Just see what seems to get
the job done ...

My flue is a straight shot from stove to roof... I have in the past disconnected from the stove collar and used the slip joint to raise it up 8" put a plastic shopping bag on bottom w/ rubberband but.. that is kind of a pain in the keester so I was hoping to hear from some that sweep with everything connected and see how that works out.... I have single wall to the kitchen ceiling then double from there up.
Thanks for the replies....
