as the title says how cold are you guys today. this arctic air is rough. how is your system keeping up.
We have a eko 25 no storage and it is doing great. 9 degrees -10with wind chill here. burning some wood but we are toasty at 72 in the 3200 sq foot house

16 degrees outside 172 degree temp out of boiler 157 returning. House is 69 degrees and silent. No oil burner running. Oh wait! the ice just settled and clinked in my Jack and Coke. To all a great night.

Single digits in VT today too. Probably at or below 0 tonight. My house is in need of some cellulose blown into the walls, so it doesn't stand up to high winds well. That said, house is in the upper 60s and I still refuse to burn any oil! Filled the Tarm 4 times today and just kept it pumping out the heat. Have a fire in the fireplace as well just to help out the rooms on the prevailing wind side. After a winter like this, I might just finally get around to blowing that insulation in...

It was -24 this am. I think it warmed up to about 10 and is dropping again. I had -34 Jan 2 and 3, so this isn't to bad. I have both stoves going. I am about 25 miles S of Duluth MN.
Doug

It's been around zero today with fierce winds. -2 at 7pm and I have not looked since, but I am sure it has not gone up.

House is nice and warm (thankfully I do have cellulose in the walls); as I hear the wind howling outside and my duct blower running, I no longer think of dollars going up in flames (as I used to with oil that struggled to keep it this warm).

We had about 10 here. I've got 1 radiator turned off, 165 degree water in my tank & 75 degrees. The Atmos can crank out some heat, Randy

-13F right now, 2800 sq ft. house is 70 and the storage was at 170 last I looked, the Tarm wont see a fire again till tomorrow. I do have the Hearthstone cruising along to help out, plus I just love seeing a fire in it.

It is 3*F but was colder last night (Thursday Jan 28) at -2 with 70km/hr winds. The weather guys were calling it -30C with the wind chill, which is very similar to -30*F (with the wind chill).

The rig was still idling half of the time. It is heating the barn rooms to 64, the house to 70 and the DHW. It's heating 5500 sq.ft in total and not even breathing hard. And that is with wood that is only lightly seasoned. Imagine what it could do with dry wood. There is a fireplace insert in the family room over the garage where the boiler resides; but it's too warm to use it. We'd be roasted out. That room used to be the coolest, now it is the warmest. Just as it should be.

What a relief. I used to fear that the EKO wouldn't be able to keep up.

I just long for the storage completion, so I wouldn't have to babysit it. I am guessing it would save wood too. If I wasn't so warm and cozy, I wouldn't fall asleep in front of the TV, and might get around to completing the plumbing job.

No oil this winter...but lots of slugging wood. It's not a free ride, but you guys know that.

4.1F at 4:10 am

The damned wind finally blew off the tarp from the firewood.

72F in here and running off storage till tonight.

-4 plus wind is howling, house 65 and strugling slightly.

Minus 4.5 here, 70F in the house, all three zones running, tank at 165F at top, Last fire yesterday afternoon, fire burned out at 9:00 PM last night and boiler master switch was shut off.

0.5 here and 68 in the house

-20 C this morning, the kerr tw2000 cant keep up

woodeater

kerr tw2000 in detached garage
75 ft 1 inch pex to the house
7 degree diferential in and out boiler
1200 sq feet house
husquavarna 262 always sharp
8 cords a year
5000 dd/ year

Woke up to 5 above...it's colder than I want it to be as I get to spend the next hour or so in the unheated barn(this is when I wish I had the boiler out there!). Comfy inside at 70 but we are going away this morning and I'll be grinding my teeth as I switch over to oil(of course, now I wish I had storage!!). At least we'll be spared the big storm that is hitting south of the PA border.

-12 this morning, with no wind. The other night we had wind chills down into the -30 range. Forced air add-on keeps the house anywhere from 72-76.

It got to -9F at my place last night and it's still -3F now. It's not supposed to get about 5F during the day.

Warm today. 10F with a wind chill of 0f . Nice to have your own little weather station
on the garage. time to go feed the boiler.

- 10 c here today kinda cold considering I could see green grass on Thursday . About 8 inches of snow since Friday morning

Looks like -22 °C here this morning (-8 °F ) but wind chill much lower. Feels like real normal winter again, much better than this wet stuff.

-2*F last night, it seldom goes negative here in CT even at 900' elevation.

-3*F with a very light South breeze starting to pick up early this AM. The moon was incredible last night. So bright it nearly blotted out all the stars. Didn't need headlights to drive......well, the wife thought we did........ There was a huge ring/halo around the moon too from moisture freezing out of the upper atmosphere. Temp is up to about 7 right now.

-10 at 6:30 We started a fire and by 11:00 the storage was comming up to 185. And bright sun and no wind today life is good.
