Hi everyone!

I have a Quad CB1200. On these cold days and nights I want to let my stove run almost all the time. My furnace hasn't kicked in except for DHW in oover a month :)

Question....about 8-9 hrs of running the stove it shuts down automatically? It isn't hooked to a t-stat....I just keep it on and let it run. New model last year.

Is this a safety feature?

Hi and welcome to the forum........ your 1200 should just run...... since it gives you 8-9 hrs before it shuts down, I'm guessing it may be a fuel supply problem...... if you have a lot of fines at the bottom of the hopper, the auger might start to cavitate in the fines and not pull the pellets up the auger chute. (I had this happen once when I tried to salvage a bag of damp pellets and they crumbled in the hopper - had to vacuum out the bottom of the hopper and away it went). Another suggestion is that the pellets may be getting hung up in the hopper and not sliding properly. I coat and polish the hopper with lemon pledge once a season to make the pellets really slide... it works! Are you having to reset anything on your stove to get it going again..... please explain.......... again, welcome to the forum!!...........cc :)

Another question would be 'how much residue/clinkers/ash is in the burn pot after those 9 hours?' There shouldn't be much at all unless you have some really lousy pellets.

I'll have to clean the hopper and chute real good and try the Pledge. I always run on high heat and fan full blast. Usually after 10 hours there are no clinkers and just a little ash on the bottom and sides.

is it hooked to a remote? they shut down after 9 hours for safety.

What kind of remote is that, fluemaster? I have a Skytech that keeps going although, I have to admit, the stove does shut off for no reason other than probably the 3" long pellets I am using!!!!!! Never again. I believe that it does have a timer on it, so maybe you hit on something if he accidentally put it in timer mode.

Yea, you're right. That would have been too easy. :cheese: Still think it's the pellets bridging........

I think flumasterjr has it. It is hooked to a remote (Quad remote). Looks to be a safety setting. I really appreciate all the help!

Why did you say that it wasn't hooked to a thermostat????????????? That sent us all around in circles.........

the remote and receiver have to communicate at least once every 9 hours or it will shut down so if you have the remote set at 90 and the house never gets past 70 it wont communicate so it shuts down i think it is a safety feature designed for gas and it is kinda a pain in the butt for pellet.

That IS a pain. I noticed that the Skytech also say they are for gas furnaces. I guess I better leave it on Thermo.
