This is going to sound like the start to a joke, but........

How many skids does it take to build an edifice big enough to cover 3 cords of wood?

I'm looking for serious math wizards here........not punch line creators........lol.

The fewest I could see you getting away with is 17...I'm not sure how stable of a structure it would be, and it assumes 4x4 pallets, which are alot more rare than 40x48...

You should draw out what you are envisioning and work from there, it would give you a better idea than some guy on the internet randomly spouting off a number.

if you want to cover three sides and the top then 16 pallets would let you store 512 ft^3 or 4 cords. if you have 4 by 4 pallets.

If you use 16 normal pallets you could fit 426 ft^3 or 3.33 cords. but you would have a 16 inch wide strip open across the top.

Obviously I'm thinking of nailing them all together, and such.........thanks for the calculations.........I've got a plan in my head based on standard-sized pallets. It's the ROOF that I'm not sure of (not a "carpenter"). Maybe a peak of some sort, and a heavy canvas top.........we'll see.
