Just finished loading another ton of Okies into my basement,

So far this year I have burned,

1 ton NEWPs from Jaffery
1 ton Okanagans (still have about 1/4 left from a 1.3 ton pallet from BJ's Taunton, Ma)

I was down to my last 25 bags of Okies and was starting to get that nagging feeling that I was going to be cold by the end of the month.

Now with these Okies loaded in and stacked on a floor pallet I can sleep at night.

I got them from J&S Trucking in Berkley, Ma.

June the owner was great. We talked pellets and stoves for about an hour comparing notes.

I paid $275.00 for a ton. They break down the pallets to 50 bag ton loads (easier for pickup owners to haul)

She also sells Dragon Mtn, Appling County, and one of the Maine Pellets (can't remember) They move a lot of pellets so they usually have good stock.

Easy to find the shop just east of RT 24 on Padelford St. (Exit 11)

Looks like I'm good to go through mid March.

Hey Nailer,

Looks like you "nailed" that one.

Good choice.

Enjoy,

Ranger

Jack56, I don't have a BJ's membership atm but
if you ever had the need, I'd split a ton of Oakies
with you at that price.

Glad t hear you're good to go for awhile Nailer.

Thanks Guys,

The BJ's that I called were sold out and not expecting any more stock.

I made a small hole in one of the bags last night by accident as I was unloading them.
I just had to burn the bag to see if they were OK.

They were...My living room was sitting at 75 degrees in no time. :)

Thanks again,

Any BJ's in RI carrying the Oke's?

Great going nailer, that is a nice warm feeling, isnt it.

Hey BTU, I made a bit of a fuss about the Okies at some BJ's having alot of fines, but I have not had a single problem with them.

I will admit when I am wrong, and this time I was wrong :red:

Too bad Portsmouth and Hookset are sold out of them, these pellets rock !!!!!

Very happy with the Oakies. They burn amazingly clean. Even after 5 days of 24/7 buring, I barely get any ash buildup on the glass.

I'll be grabbing 1.3 tons of Okies next week. $249 a ton in Mass.

I bought 2 bags of Okies from BJs in Saratoga Springs, NY. Good heat value, very sooty, and get this............they stunk like PUKE. Everytime I opened up the hopper cover the living room filled up with a wonderful "Did someone just barf?" smell. I'll pass.

Cant say anything about the smell, I have not experienced that much of an off smell from the BJ's bags.

Regarding the soot, as BTU said, adjust or clean your stove to see if that is the issue. Mine sooted up big time when the stove was still set for Greene Team hardwoods. Dialed the feed rate back from 5 to 3.5 and now the stove has never run cleaner. Also pushes much more heat than the hardwood....with less feed rate.
