Okay so a sales guy just came by, dropped off a couple bags of barefoots to run thru our display stoves, see how we like them, maybe buy a few truckloads.... I'm gonna run a bag thru our Lopi Pioneer floor model after the hopper full of Okies in it has run out. Any one out there use these? I have heard of them before, but some actuall consumer feedback on them would be nice, especially on consistent product quality from batch to batch.

i've only burned 6 bags, and of those the heat was great, low ash and very clean burning....i put them right up there with the oakies

IMO I have burned Barefoot and Okies and consider both top quality pellets.

Hello, check out the link below to forum member Jtakeman , he's done a fantastic job of home testing on most all brands of pellets and the Barefoots did well in his tests. If you take on the Barefoot pellets, I'd like to try some out as they aren't available in Central Maine here.----Lorne.

Very good pellets.

I put a few bags through my dragon it said yummy. I was looking for several different pellet brands to buy and they are on my current short list along with Oakies and LG's. It always pays to have several to be able to choose from.

BTU how goes the distribution battles, any trucks coming this way that might lose a bag or two as they go by the end of my driveway heading to 302 in Windham?

A Bear can hope can't he?

My rating of pellet brands I have burned this season and last
1. Barefoot -this season
2. LG Granules - last season
3. Energex hardwood- last season
4. Michigan - worst things ever

I had some left over from last year, they still burn good today. Very even quality, burned almost 4 tons last year. The only thing I didn't like was I found the bags too thin, I slide them into the cellar on a ramp and they kept ripping. They seem to be a little hotter than the LG's I've got this year, with a little less ash, so I'd consider them very good.

well, the okies are all burned up in the pioneer... I'm gonna give the firebox a good dusting down (not that it needs much of a dusting since we burn okies in it) and fire 'er back up with the barefoots! thanks for the input, guys!

i love them. one of the best

They are great pellets. Running a Breckwell P-23, and they burn better than Dry Creek, Instant Heat, and Allegheny.

You'll love the Barefoots, I've been using them for 4 years now and they've always been a consistently good pellet. Low ash, high BTU.

I burned a couple bags last month with not much ash at all and lots of heat. Did notice that they created a "puck-like" build up of creosote a couple of times in the burn pot though. Could have just been an inferior batch or wrong air flow settings though. Just got 2 more bags today to try them again sometime this week.

thats why I am testing them out in a drop feeder LOPI... the smaller burnpot and drop style feeder should help determine what kind of ash buildup we get... the harmans push it all thru, so its hard to gauge.

I'm about ten bags into five tons of barefoots...

So far I love them. Low ash, not too many fines and the heat is great. I had been burning LG's and was able to turn my settings down with the barefoots.

Best I've burned so far.

one bag down in the LOPI overnight last nite... I am pretty impressed with the lack of ash in the stove, and the lack of clinkers in the pot. Heat out put appeared good, as the 28,000 btu pioneer kept the 2000 sq ft shop at 60 deg on the button on a medium setting.
