don't have the englander anymore but that was the stove i tried a few test bags in and were night and day to the tons i have, maybe the single bags they were selling was the hardwood (the bait?).....and then they give ya the blend when you buy a ton, ya never know.

I had a ton delivered yesterday.
The wife was home for the delivery and said the replaced 3 bags that were broken.
I looked at the stack this morning since I had a nasty stomach thing last night.
The whole ton is the hwd/con blend BUT the 3 replacements are the hwd only.

I bought the blends as a test sample a week ago and they burned great.
Not sure if they have any idea that they're different. I'll have to give them a call later today.

Yup those are the good ones . I can't find them here any more .

Thought I would jump in on this too. I am not happy with the blend pellets that I got a few weeks ago. I'd really rather have my AWF's back. Lots of ash and Lots of clinkers in the pot. Courtland, my local dealer said they "haven't had any complaints". That's had to believe

I'm finding that the "blend" liggies do have a lot of ash but good heat. I tested some pellets from a local mill and got the same heat from their pellets with HALF the ash of the liggies and about $30 a ton cheaper. Looks like I found next years pellets!

green lettered bag hardwood....LOTS!!!!! of ash, when i scrape the pot in the morning i get big chunks of carbon and i'm burning on medium high.....did 2 trial bags before i purchased the tons and they were GREAT, total opposite of what i got now...if i remember correctly i paid 290/ton, they heat the house but after sampling alot since then i can get softwoods alot cheaper and burn hotter thus saving me pellets and even more $, i'm a lot wiser to it now since joining this site so lesson learned i guess.

The Ton of Lignetics I got this season sucks compared to last. WAY TOO MUCH ash, fines. dust. But most of all very inconsistant with heat.
The ash is so bad my pan is overflowing in 3 days!!

I was opening my last 10 bags for liggies and guess what i found in the bags..... CORN??? how could corn be in the bags??? Ther was not a huge amount of corn but never the less it is corn. & of the 10 bags had some corn in them maybe 100 kernels total. I have a sotrage bin in the house next to the stove that hold 7-8 bags and while filling the bin i seen corn... go figure.

I just picked up a ton of Press-To-Logs from lowe's for $250. They say made by lignetics of Va, wva, or Idaho on them. they have orange lettering on them. The bags are mostly in Spanish. They say Hardwood/conifer mix on them. I will let you know if they burn differently then the Hardwood only Linetics Green labels that I am finishing up now.

Same here. I have been using them only when the temps dip into the teens.
The ash is alot more than any other pellet I've burned to date.

I have 2 bags(Thank's to macman!) of the hardwood only lig's, I want to do a head to head with the conifer blend I already burned. But its so darn warm lately I hate to waste the big heat in the shoulder's. Might just have to wait till fall. But if we get a cold spell. I will try to toss them in and see what I get for temps and overall ash(volume and weight).

I still think the conifer is a good pellet as long as you can score them a bit cheaper than the hardwoods. The heat was pretty darn hot IMO. Otherwise get the hardwoods if at all possible.

i've been burning the blends too.seems like i'm getting a lot of ash lately.thought it might be my stove settings.now i know it's the pellets.the first ton i burnt seemed great but this second ton isn't so good.funny thing is they are both blends. oh well burning season is coming to a close.can't wait to get on the Harley again.
