Just purchased a few bags of Pesto-logs from Lowes. The reviews were not so bad so figured I would try em out. They are dark creme colored and hardwood conifer blend, very dull and dusty(red flag 1)they are long some 2 inch plus(red flag 2)but I poured em in. My thelin can burn them I thought. Temp was 20 degrees outside and after 2 hours of burning, one very dirty glass, and hardly any flame, my small cabin was a mere 63 degrees and falling. I took heat output and it was a lousy 180 degrees. My pennwood pellets and hammers crank out 270 degrees and keep the cabin @ 72 easily. It seems to me that Lignetics is a company that is trying to flood the pellet market with about 4 different types of pellets made from many locations around the country, quality is compromised. They use to be such a great pellet when they just cocentrated on one (hardwood)from WV. I could not sit through this aweful burn. I emptied hopper and filled up with my pennwoods, cabin was up to temp in know time. Glad lowes took the 3 and a half bags I returned today. Not going to roll the dice on a Ligs product again. Thank you to all the home pellet testers you are all a big help in your reviews!

I have had Ligs before out here in Oregon.
Never had any issues with them but that was a few years ago.

Glad you got the cabin warm again

Sorry to hear about your bad experience. You got me thinking... I have seen 2 different Pres-to-Log bags at various stores - one was light brown/orange and one was darker orange. Are the Pres-to-Logs made at all of the Lignetics plants? Judging from the label, it appears that they are. Maybe the ones that are getting really bad feedback come from the new Virginia plant? Another thing I observed is that if you compare the Lignetics and Pres-to-Logs side-by-side, they look almost exactly alike. Do you think there is any possibility that they are being re-wrapped (I personally don't think so, but then again I wouldn't be surprised if they were). Has anybody looked into any of this more?

I've tried all of their products, except the orange label Lignetics brand from Idaho. The green hardwood only pellets weren't that bad, but this new conifer mix (especially from the Virginia plant) leave me very unsatisfied. And I know I'm not the only one that feels this way. I'm eager to find out if they make any changes or not.

I have nothing bad to say . They burned very well in my Accentra. Actually I was impressed. Sorry. The only bad thing I can say is what I paid for them. 5.89 a bag.
