Running low on wood as it has been colder than usual. Found a young guy locally on CL who had "seasoned" wood. $190 per cord, delivered. His dump body is 6' x 8' and he had the logs neatly stacked about 2 1/2 feet high. Pretty close to a cord. Mostly oak, some maple. He told me it was cut down two years ago and split last summer.
Some of the pieces are pretty heavy, but most is burnable. I have attached, I think, a photo of the pile, less one wheelbarrow full.
I have also attached a photo of my staging area with next's year's wood in process. On the right are rounds I bought for $130 per cord and in the background, not very clear under the snow, are tree tops I had delivered for $100 per load (6' x 8' x 3').
I have room for 2 1/2 cords under my deck, just outside the basement door. It is full now from the drier wood I bought and some emergency stash Ash that I had dropped (standing dead) 2 years ago.
