Our little snow storm was just too much for some tree branch somewhere and with a great flash off in the distance, we lost power. Not knowing how long it would be out, I went and fired up the motorhome's genny and plugged it into my transfer switch. There was a click and all the lights came on in the house. My pellet stove didn't even go out, just hit the start button and off it went. The wife and I are sitting here, watching the Olympics, nice and toasty...the only house for miles all lit up.

The blower motor is a little louder than normal but I expected that while using the generator. My meter says I have 116 volts so all is good. You can't even hear the generator from 30 feet away.

I love it when a plan comes together!

OH yeah Buddy

last winter we got slammed here.
Power went off in the night (2 am) and we fired up the suit case genny and connected the pellet stove.

Nice and warm all night long.

The stoves fan motors seem to make more noise on the genny though.

Glad your warm and cozy

Thankfully I haven't had to use my generator (yet) this winter! I can't believe the power didn't go out here during either blizzard. Oh well, I'm not gonna complain about that!

We haven't had a power outage in over six years BUT I'd like to install a NG-powered stand-by generator in the future... ya never know.

When we bought our house in Brewerton 3 years ago, the first thing I did was install a natural gas powered generator. I want to me the only house on the block that had all the lights on during an extended outage (the second it happens I would turn on everything I could find to show off) Well, it seems that I did the neighborhood a favor. They havent had an extended outage since I spent the $3k to put that stupid thing in.

Franks - I agree - now I call my generator purchase "Power Outage Insurance".
Almost never have to file a "claim" since I installed it.

lmao about Genny's. when i was youngerI did drink the genny pounders in the cardboard case. any way glad to hear the genny worked for youe pellet stove
