I have a harman invincible floor model in my basement ( T model i think) and an invincible insert upstairs and the insert always has the distribution fan running. From the second i plug it in the distribution fan is running, the one in the basement increases fan speed as the stove heats up and shuts off on its own when the stove is turned off or goes out. I have been plugging it in everytime i want to use it because it will just blow cold air if it is not burning. O ya and also the light on the control board does not turn on saying the distribution fan is running until the stove is warm.

Are there certain parts i should be looking at to replace?

Thanks Matt

Not sure on the Invincible, but with newer Harman units I'd say it
sounds like the ESP has Sh*t the Bed.
It's supposed to keep the distribution blower from coming on until the
Exhaust Temp reaches 160 degrees...

Are you turning the stove on and off by unplugging it and plugging it?????
If so, find the on/off switch, and use that instead.

I wounder if the combustion blower is on also. If it is then it would be the esp probe. If combustion blower is not running then it would be either a short where power is getting to the blower and not from the control board. Or your control board on/off switch it is an internal soild state switch on the control board failed and is in the closed postion all the time.

NO the combustion motor does shut off. There can be ashes sitting in the burn pot with out anything blowing around above the holes when i first plug it in. I know it works on a vacuum so that is observed with the door closed. I will check the wiring to make sure it is going through the switch and if it is do i need to replace the whole board or is there a way of testing and replacing the switch?

But i suspect it is bypassing the switch somehow because the indicator light on the control panel for the distriibution fan only is lite when the stove is up to temp, and i would imagine that works off the same switch.

Thanks matt

The whole board would be shot. all the switches are solid state on the control board. Does that board have one connector for all the wiring except esp and room sensor? If so the brown wire is the hot wire. The other pins going to the motors should not have any ohms. If you find that the combustion blower has ohms through the control board when it is off the switch is bad. So your test point will be either the fuse and the pin going to the room fan or the pin where the brown wire comes in and the pin that goes to the room fan. if that is closed the board is bad. if it's open the problem is else where.

Unplug the stove first.

the Invincible R/S has an OFF position on the dial and thats it. My money here is on a faulty ESP probe.....it controls the distribution fan.......are you getting any "blink" errors?

He says the light on the control board does not come on until the stove gets warm - that means the ESP probe is connected and functional.

Fairly sure bet he has a shorted Triac on the control board - there are 4 of them - they control distribution blower, combustion blower, feed motor, and igniter.

They receive input from the microprocessor via optical isolators which also contain a Triac - that could also be shorted - but historically those devices are very low failure rate items.

DONT PLAY WITH THE BOARD UNLESS YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING! There are lethal voltages, and you can easily cause more problems or destroy the board.

blah! I dont replace component parts on the circuitboard....only the whole board! still, check the ESP
