Congratulations Hiram. Not only on the new stove, but finally turning 35. I'll be interested to see how much wood you use now and how wide your smile will be now that you can keep warm during the winter.

Congratulations Hiram! That sure is a big one. Those blowers look like they would move a lot of air if needed.

Steve

I think you're going to need a door to burn that stove. Is that a special order too?

Can't wait to see it in place and burning. The 8" double wall pipe will be like a telephone pole jumping out of your stove.

I'm certainly hoping it will be about half as much as last year. I went through 7.5 cords last year. I have a little cart that I load with wood and roll into the stove. I would empty that in a day last year. So far this year I have stretched it out to 2 days but it really hasn't been that cold yet either.

.

So, if my calcs are correct, you'll be loading it with 3.75 cords, then you're done 'til, what, about next May?! :bug:

Dave

Oops, Yes according to my failure to add room behind stove. ;-P

Careful breaking it in, that you do not blister the brown paint. If I
understand properly, it is another layer of paint on top of the original
black.

On my "metallic blue" Princess, the paint blistered, but thankfully
limited to a fairly small area just left of the door - between the door
hinges and the edge of the stove. Should be pretty simple to touch
up, once i get a can of the right paint.

I don't think I did anything wrong, since the blistering is so limited.
Probably some problem with surface prep there - maybe some grease.

Mine has the same thing in the same spot... Like a faint line down the side of the stove from top to bottom. On mine it's barely noticeable- but it's there.

Different, I think. Mine is pretty widespread - over that one area.

Its beautiful! congrats! thats my dream stove! i want a black on e though.. if they had red i would like that!

There are dealers who will paint the stove in any of the Stove Bright colors:

Actually yes! They don't come with a door.....(and no I'm not kidding)

You can order just the stove!

My door came packed inside the firebox.

Congrats on the bk king Hiram you will be amazed when it just keeps going and going and going.....
good luck on the install...... cant wait to see

That is a beast. I am fascinated by the mystique of the Blaze King and would certainly own one if I lived in Northern NH or ME, where the weather is more severe. I do not care for the looks that much, but I'm sure I would grow to love it. Now show us some pictures of that sucker fired up, cuz as you know, until we see pics it ain't real!

The BK King on its Throne Sneak peek..................

Well the flooring is well on its way to being installed and the Blaze King now sits a top its new raised Traverine Throne. :cheese:

No more bending over to load a stove......

Sure has taken me long enough?

Cheers, Hiram (taken with phone camera)

Hiram, that's AWESOME!!! I can't wait for the results. BTW, thanks to your post, and the great pics., I was able to convince the wife. Yup, ordered a King Parlour with shields and blowers and brown paint not 4 hours ago. $2700 out the door. How'd I do? (plus it's only a 45 min. drive for pick-up) :) Really nice flooring ,also, gives me some ideas.

Very nice work. You're going to love it.

Congrats Hiram. Now will someone tell me whats sooooo ugly about the BK in that picture? Looks as good or better than any plate steel stove. I am excited about your feedback so BB can second guess you also. Cheers! You to BB. :p

Looks awesome. Get that stove fired up!

Todd,

Unfortunately I will have to wait until I get a portion of the Tax credit money back from last years taxes. I blew my wad on flooring!

Plus I really need to wait until I can safely(non-freezing temps) paint the double wall Goldenfire Brown from the stove to the ceiling support,& the support itself. Outside of-course

FYI you helped inspire the "raised" portion of the hearth......I wanted to make sure the Outside Air Kit would be lower than the stove. ;-)

Thank you, Hiram

Well I actually stopped mentioning burn times along time ago as my ribs were getting sore from BB. I started using the word (CONTROLLABLE) in my posts instead. As far as the surge, well... the stoves CONTROLLABLE performance has sold itself to the other members that have purchased one, and the word has spread. We are all here to heat our homes aren't we?
So far my home has not been egged from any members that have purchased one. Only ONE NC-30 owner that has had one of his buddies still in the service do a fly-by on a trip to an Alaskan Military Base and drop a big wet piece of soggy oak down my chimney. My finicky catalytic by-pass was closed at the time , preforming another controllable burn. No harm was done.
Cheers again Hiram and ENJOY.

Hey Rusty,

How did you get your Princess in metallic blue? Was it a special order? Are there other choices? :wow:
