So the wife and I are watching Olympic half pipe. I loaded the stove up about 15-20 minutes ago and then kicked back to watch the games.....I looked up to see if it was ready for me to put the bypass in and WOW. 700 degrees front temp....So I put the rod in, pushed in the air intake to shut down aas much as possible ........and watched it hold that temp....and hold and hold...and climb....so I closed the airwash intakes as well....and it climbed up to 750 and sat there for about 5 minutes. it has just now eased down below 700. Wife commented that she had never seen it so high...I have, but only a couple times and certainly didn't like it. . I'm surprised that it is still birning so fiercely. The yellow bright flames have receded, but deep inside the stove there is a lot of orange fire activity...the Cats are glowing as brightly as they ever have. ......Think I will let it get down to around 550 before I give it some more air.

Hmm... olympics tend to do that LOL. Watching them here. Loaded up my oslo tight for the night. Noticed it going pretty good, actually really good...too good! Checked my recently installed pipe temp and it was 1200F and climbing while the stove top was only 400F. Slapped the air closed and it immediately dropped down to 600F in about a minute. Phew! Set a new high on my stove pipe though. Cured the paint even more as I could smell it.

Back down to about 500 and I opened up some air. I'll be keeping an eye on it for a bit before I check in. Shawn White and Lindsey Vauhgn were awesome. People who were there will be talking about that for the rest of their lives. Fricking bad A$z.
