I'm in Northern Minnesota and was recently an unfortunate victim of internet fraud. I'm in need of some replacement firebrick for my Whitfield Advantage 3 and although I have sourced a number of suppliers on the internet, I'm wary (!) given previous bad experience purchasing online.

I looked at the "trusted supplier list" on this site but none are parts suppliers. I would appreciate any advice - reputable suppliers/reasonable prices/Any with free shipping?/etc.

Iceshack, give this place a try http://woodheatstoves.com the manager Dave Gault is a member here (Wood Heat Stoves) , another member here (hearthtools) who exited the stove shop business and now does service and repairs has this to say:

We are Referring all online Stove parts sales to
Wood Heat Stoves and Solar
They have a large selection of Factory and aftermarket stove parts.
I trust this company they have been in the hearth business for over 25 years.

Thanks Guys - helpful replies both. I just cruised woodheatstoves.com and they have the firebrick at 10% off - bonus!

My firebrick is getting worn (mostly as a result of the shop vac I use during regular cleaning) at the base of each side plate and below and around the pellet feeder on the centre plate. Its not worn all the way through though and after I posted I searched this forum and read in one post that the firebrick is only cosmetic in nature and isn't worth the 100 bucks to replace.

Am I wasting my coin??

It depends upon the stove as to weather the fire brick is or is not only cosmetic in nature.

It should be spelled out in the manual.

It is an optional item for my stove. It is only in the stove during the off season, the same is true of my log set.

I can get you the parts that you need. Check out my website and give me a call or send me a email.

I have dealt with Wood Heat stoves and Solar. Great folks to deal with.

if the fireback has fallen apart, its best to replace it. or risk warped firebox, overheating etc...

The new sets will outlast the more recent factory firebacks(which were basically junk...)
