Looks like the NE will get pounded in a couple of days. It is building now in Texas.

We only got 4" but it was tough pushing! Really heavy wet snow that you couldn't throw at all. Even after spraying the blade it didn't help. Too wet and sticky. That stuff moves hard.

Here in Maine they're talking some snow north and west of Bangor . . . heavy rain where I live in Unity. At this point I'm fine with it . . . if I want to go snowmobiling I'll just have to trailer the sleds . . . if it rains it means I can continue to work on 2011-2012's wood supply (although the way things are going it's more likely to be 2012-2013's wood supply.)

Hi Y'all--Texas reporting in!
We got about 6" overnight before dry air undercut the moist flow from the SW. We also got ice. Our highway looked like a Zamboni had been over it. Our normal 10 minute trip to work required 35. These folks don't know how to drive in this stuff!!

I think y'all can plan on about Friday for this'un to get there! WE'RE done with it, so thought y'all might like to have it! Enjoy!!

Forgot to tell y'all that we have a "major" system s'posed to hit here Sunday, that y'all will likely get 'bout Thursday next week. Figured I'd better share that. Don't want none of y'all committin' suicide! Looks like we're gonna need more beer AND pork roll, y'think??

Boy, that is a nice tractor with the blower on it! I'd like to have the tractor. Hardly any need here for the blower although I HAVE used mine a whole three times since moving back here in 1996--WOW! BUT when you need one, nothing else will do!

60 hours from now on the GFS Ensembles (7PM Thursday night). There is talk of this storm sitting in place (aka stalling/bombing out) for a period of just under 48 hours. If so, snow will be measured in feet for NJ...

Terry--No doubt!!
Just picked up 12 Heineken, bottle of Jack, Liverwurst and Pork Roll!
Here we go again :)

C'mon... it's still winter. Drop the temps and let the snow fly! The 40 degree business is nonsense.

Hey Loafer

Just got back from CVA land; great groomed skiing but not much in the woods.
They need a good dump up there
Hoping they get a few feet out of this double storm.
Wet Snow and rain down in Portland OK by me less shoveling.

Agreed... the groomers are unreasonably excellent. But the woods are a different story. XC skied into Poplar Stream Falls hut last weekend on the Maine Huts & Trails route. It's getting thin. In parts they can't even groom anymore, but it was still surprisingly good. And further up towards Flagstaff Lake the snow was quite good.

I figure... as long as it's winter, let it snow! Come spring. Let it shine.

I wonder if this warm Feb will pay dividends with a shorter mud season.

another miss for us forecast now calls for this storm to be 90% rain with possible FLOODING! looks like no snow for us!
and as of right now the 1-4 they were calling for this morning------nada a few flurries

We got crazy snow here in Maine last year and the year before so I am enjoying not getting much snow this year. You can all keep it south of here as far as I am concerned.

Sweet setup. How well does it work without chains?

I have a b3030 with the front mount blower and would not dream of using it w/o chains frt and rear. I also have loaded rears and a med duty woods backblade- ideally i would add some suitcase weights to the front. When the blower is floating and the blade is up the front is pretty light. We get ice on our drive and the roads for most of a typical winter.

I've got a coupla questions for ya -
Is it 4WD?
I see no chains - are the rear (and/or) fronts filled w/ calcium chloride (am I showin my age?!) for weight, or do ya have suit cases?

Must me nice and toasty in that enclosed (climate controlled?!) cab!!

I HATE YOU  ;-) (joke)

I'm ready here...

@$#@%#@%@%@%^%#^%^ all you guys!!!!!!!
just a dusting here and rain later this week .... talk about bad luck! temps should be close to 40 or in the 40s for the next couple of weeks! winter in over for me ... time to burn like the shoulder season!!!! and clean up my back yard!

They have now moved us into the five to six inches of snow forecast. You guys can have it. We still have close to a foot left that melts a little during the day and refreezes at night and are up to our ears in mud.

They're calling for 8-16" here. We already have over 8" and it's supposed to snow all night.

Cripes, you'd think I live in Elbonia or something.

Winter Storm Watch here with 5" or more projected.
It will just cover up the dirty snow, my wood pile and my boat.
Just hiked down to see my boat this weekend, all is well.
Can't wait until the creek melts to get her floating again.
Going to be a loooong Spring. Hope it comes soon.
Bill
