Have you ever, when opening the last bag of pellets that you really liked, gotten The Last Bag Blues.

Wishing you had another few pallets of the same brand, the same run??

Well I just FINALLY opened the last bag of the Maine Woods ( Athens) left from last year, described once by BTU as "dirt in a bag". . . . . .

and let me tell you I Do NOT Have "The Last Bag Blues".

(Have been mixing them with LG Granules to use them up . . . . . .)

I hear you Ranger, I am burning some Fireside Ultra's that pretty much stink. I will do a little dance when these are gone. Only 3 more to go! I better warn the wife, to close all the blinds. So the neighbors don't think I nuts!

I also hear you Ranger. I WILL be doing a tap dance once I get through some pellets that were made a local pellet mill. Big, BIG mistake. These pellets are made by Notie Corp in central NJ and on top of the fact that I will have 20 bags of fines, out of 4 tons, they will not burn in my Quad without mixing in other pellets with them. I burned 4 bags of them prior to buying the 4 tons and didn't have any problems and they gave good heat. I didn't have the Quad at the time so I couldn't test them in it. The pellets are also very long 3 to 5" in some bags so they have to be broken up hence more fines. I loaded 5 tons of pellets into my basement via a home built chute so it became very problematic to take them back. I would have to carry 200 bags up 16 steps, turn through my kitchen, go through a doorway to the garage and then down 3 more steps to get into the garage. Ain't gonna happen especially since I recently had back surgery. Notie offered to send a truck and a couple of men to help remove them from my garage only. They said their insurance would not cover their men working in our house so they couldn't help with lugging them out of the basement. They told me I got pellets that were set aside and not to be sold. These pellets were from when they first start their pellet mill and they were adjusting the settings. The pellet mill owners burn them in their own stoves according to the owner I spoke to. He said he would make good on replacing the bags of fines and also give me some for my aggravation. We will see. Problem is I don't want to see, touch, handle, smell, or burn their pellets ever again. Do you have any idea what its like to sift, break up and mix 200 bags of pellets? This is my first season burning pellets and to say I'm soured is putting it gently.

So Ranger I very much know wherte your coming from.

i went though 40 bags of last years athens during the fall and the beginning of december. i did NOT have the last bag blues over those p.o.s's. i am sad now however as i am down to the last 6-7 bags of okies i had. i really loved the okies. they burned super hot and were not that dirty. but alas i cant find anymore around central maine and am now going to try canadian energex which i hear are decent. i also bought a bunch of this years corinth. i heard some decent things about the newer corinth and decided to try them out to "stay local"

Bkins,

What a sad tale, you have every right to be extremely upset.

ElGordo,

Not sure where you are in Central Maine, but for Okanagans, have you tried the Wood Pellet Warehouse in North Jay, Tel. 207-645-3064?

When I ran out of "this year" Athens, I wished the 25 or so bags of "this year" Corinth I still had were Athens. Now all I have left is Maine Choice. I'm happy. Until they're gone, and I gotta burn oil. OR, until I try to buy for next year and can only get Corinth.

I burned 5 ton of those beauties-felt like breaking out a bottle of bubbly when they were gone!
