Anyone have a super Eko or Biomass boiler that I could look at (inspect) while in operation.
I want to order one soon but hate to buy sight unseen. I'm between Bangor and Dexter.

I have a Super Eko 25 with storage in Ctr. NH. Unfortunately we are 4 hrs to the west.

I have EKO 40 with storage approx 35 mi south near waterville. Pm me if you would be able to see
this set up running.

I live 15 minutes outside of waterville and I'd be interested in seeing your install. What do you have for storage?

There is a Woodsmans Show coming up soon, it was in Bangor ME. last year, this time around it's in Essex Junction VT, last year they had a bunch of different boiler outfits there, some inside, and some outdoors with portable demo setups that were burning... Not the same as a real working home install, but it's a good way to see several different setups in one location.

Neat. Do you know what day(s) it is?

Yes last year the Bangor show was great, I've gotten some response from Eko's and plan to see one, But
I'm leaning towards new .a Biomass 40. and looking for one set up closer than western maine

Joecool85 my setup has 600 gal pressurized storage. PM me with contact info for checkout visit.

I'm one of the far fewer BioMass owners here and I love it. It has features that have been invaluable for me as a first year user. When I made the last minute choice of the BioMass vs EKO it was an uninformed leap of faith. Lots of EKO lovers/users here so that's a very safe bet on an excellent boiler. I decided to take a chance on a system with far less fielded history and so far I am very pleased. I can't blame the BioMass for the poor quality of my first season wood, but at the moment I'm very glad I took the leap of faith. Hopefully in several years the BioMass will establish the same reliabilty history the EKO enjoys today. Enjoy your decision process, it's been fun for me.

The Biomass has negative draft which eliminates smoke problems on loading (a real problem for beginners, but not a big deal once you learn when to open the door and when not to) It also has the ability to burn a variety fuels or mixtures of fuel if they are available to you. There are several dealers that carry both and would be able to talk you through the differences. The Eko has really caught on here over the past few years, but that by no means infers that it is a superior product to the other brands. I really like my Tarm too. I do envy the negative draft a little though... :)

Do you have a link to a website for that show? I am not far from where it is being held this year and might check it out. - Thanks

Timberr just gave the website above - The Expo dates are: May 7-8, 2010. It is a good take, or at least it was last year up in Bangor, and I'm planning to attend this year as well. Not only do they have a nice boiler exhibit, but they also have all sorts of stuff for dealing with turning trees into firewood, chips, lumber, and so forth - if you are into heavy equipment, you'll love it...

If you have any interest at all in attending, you should definitely go to the website mentioned, and pre-register. If you do, the admission is free, but I think they charge at the door, and you have to stand in line a lot longer....

BTW, I should mention that Eric, one of the other mods here on the Hearth, works for the magazine that is putting on the show...
