I have a p68 being installed next week. I have been reading many forums over the past few weeks and by far
the people here are the most knowledgeable and friendly. I hope I can bring something to the conversation too,
but for now I will be picking your brains for awhile. I was going to wait for summer to get the stove but I want to
get burning and test some pellet brands and stock up over the spring and summer. I have room for 3-4 tons
so I don't want to buy that much of something without some testing. I am working on a tile hearth right now and
will post pics soon. Just as a note I am sitting here in the mountains of Pa. with a raging blizzard outside.
10 inches already with about 8-10 more to come.
Thanks in advance for the help. Matt

Welcome Matt! Glad to have you aboard. Hearth.com has many knowledgeable members who are very willing to help out when you need it. We also enjoy some fun and laughs too from time to time.

Yes, we do LOVE to see pics of new installs, so post 'em when you get 'em....even pics of the hearth under construction will do for now....LOL.

Welcome Matt, X2 on the pictures and Alway I love hearing about what others think on the different pallet brands out there. 4 tons gets you into the pellet pig's.

Keep us posted on the stove install.

Enjoy you stay!

Thanks for the quick responses. I have a Toyota Tundra 1/2 ton. Its payload is 1650lbs. I am thinking
if I break the pallet down a little I can make a short run home from the pellet store with a ton. There is a place
close to me selling Barefoot pellets for 239.00 per ton. By what I have read in this forum that could be a good pellet to start with.
Do you prefer delivery or pickup your own?

Definetly a good pellet and should do very well for you. Good price too!

Greetings and welcome to the forum Matt.

Get some of those Barefoot pellets as that's a decent price and they are good pellets.

Could you explain the "Pellet Pig Club" to me?
And when I buy my pellets if I wear a pig snoot do I get any discount?
Have a good day!

I think you will fit in perfect here. Maybe that is a good idea if anyone shows up with a pig snoot on at my pellet yard I will give them a discount lol.

You'll have to take those matters up with jtakeman, macman, and eric. Jay seems to be handling the eligibility matter, macman is the money launderer, and eric is keeper of the backroom brew stash.

You can try wearing a big snoot and see how that works out, most likely you'll get laughed at, but if it works let us know.

Wait a second, I only fill in when the true leaders slack off(macman and Eric). IMO anyone that buy's more pellets than they actually need for a season should be a pellet pig in one form(class) or another.

I hear by except every member as a pellet pig(Bet that gets the bosses aaaaaactive, Now where are they?)! Just kidding fella's.

Happy burning and pellet hunting.

Welcome aboard

Great forum with great folks here.

Gotta love all them Piglets. :cheese:

welcome barfoots are a great pellet and thats a good price

I would say "Hi and welcome" but it doesn't suit my idiom (dark and mysterious), so instead I'll say "shoes untied".

Welcome MCweld! You could dress up as a "hogette" , but no pics please! It'll end up in the ash can! Those Barefoots would be an excellent start. If you can, rules state you should buy several bags and test em in your setup to be sure whats happenin with the batch before taking a plunge on a ton. But Barefoots have a good rep. Your gonna love this pellet thing.
