What can case the Lower Brick Retainers on the VC Encore NC to become loose? Stove is only 10 months old with about 4 months usage. While cleaning out ash I noticed the bolts and retainers had come very loose.

I have burned VC stoves for years and that is something that happens with expansion and contraction when the stove heats and cools.I check for loose bolts about half way through the burning season. Do not over tighten these bolts or you can strip the threads out of the soft cast. Some copper anti seize on each bolt helps.

Thank you for the reply. Why the anti seize and where does one get this material?

I use anti seize to lubercate the threads those bolts need to be removed twice a year to clean out the back of the stove so through the years they get removed and put back in alot. Any auto parts store should stock it.
