Hi,I was wondering if anyone could recommend a quadra fire or harman dealer in the Philly area?
I have one quote so far on a castille model and it will run about $4000.That seems high to me?
I would like to have it installed by late spring /summer. Do dealers ever run summer specials?
I am new to this forum and I believe I have been to every website possible trying to find out which
unit to buy.If the install is in the summer will I be able to buy the pellets during the summer?
I also have dealers wanting to just pop the vent out the wall? Trying to do my homework,
never knew pellet stoves were so complicated? Any advice is welcome..Lisa

I can't recommend a dealer, since I'm not from that area, but if you want to get some other opinions on installs and costs, try this website.....just enter your zip code under the "Installers" section. It's a good idea to get 2-3 "opinions".

I would think that you could get a deal on some stoves during the spring and early summer. Pellets seem to be readily available so far.

Why did you decide on Harman & Quadrafire? There are MANY other brands out there, and Harmans are very $$, and seem to have just as many problems as lower priced stoves.

We got our stove from "KC Stoves and Fireplaces" in Alburtis, PA. They are one of the top Harman dealers in the area. They do all the service, and maintenance of the stoves too. They were very knowledgeable and friendly. They also offer you a free ton of pellets with your purchase.

I also had KC Stoves install. If you're north of Philly they'll probably go down, They were fast, clean and professional. They do alot of installs so they know what they're doing. They're not cheap but the job will be done right. Also try Wood Heat in Quakertown. They've been around forever. You can get pellets in spring/summer no problem. Don't forget the 30 percent tax credit. Good luck-Go Phils!

Thank you all for the suggestions, however these dealers are quite far.I am 5 minutes from the city.I don't think
dealers would travel that far. I actually have not decided on harman or quadra fire but so far the one showroom
I went to that contained these products, seems to be the most knowledgeable? One dealer said the manager would be
servicing my stove if something were to go wrong and he "could figure it out" this guy wasn't a harman or quad dealer
and told me all I need is a 12" piece of pipe to vent. I have a SMALL home just about 1000 sq feet and I am open to suggestions.
I just dont want a stove that is going to break often? Please offer any suggestions.....Lisa

you might find the harman p38 useful for your home. It's rated at 40K BTU's and was around 2500 when we were shopping around. My dealer recommended harman over quad because of reliability (this may have just been his opinion, but we bought one)
