Newbie to spitting wood. Got about face cord of this wood. Any idea. Spilts very nicely.

Can you get some more pictures? I think I know what it is but more pictures needed for sure.
 
The small picture of the bark does look like BL. The wood however should look greenish yellow. Yours looks tanish on my monitor. If it is BL, split it now and easily use it this next coming winter. I personally mix it with other woods depending on the longevity and amout of heat I need. I keep big for overnight burns. Barely able to pick up with one hand big.
If your wood has been dried for a few weeks it tends to loose its greenish yellow and become more tan.
 
Somewhat a shot in the dark, but it looks a little like ash. What little of the bark I can see is consistent with ash. And the grain is identical to an Eastlake style commode I have made from ash.

Looking forward to more pix to see if I'm way off or not.

I'll go with Black Locust too... Great firewood! Thinking of planting some here for future use...
